Hello everyone, I apologize if I am posting this in the wrong place, I've never used NLSC for anything other than downloading other people's creations.
I've just completed a 2002-03 NBA season roster with 14 real players on almost every team. A team here or there may only have 13. The goal of this roster is to be able to simulate long term all the way to the current era and beyond, which is why I felt the need to add/make so many players. I also added the free agents of this year that were already in 2K. The ones that aren't already in the game may be added eventually, but there are plenty that were in the game so I think teams will be populated just fine.
I felt that the 2002-03 season would be a good season to make for this goal of long term simulation because it's an even 20 years away from the myLeague start point and is a pivotal season in the sense that LeBron, D Wade and Carmelo Anthony are about to make it to the league. I made this roster to occupy myself with something for a while in the place of 2K24, because there is no way I'm buying that game on PC as it's still the last-gen version of the game. The even 20 year gap hopefully makes it a little more convenient keeping track of the real life year being simulated, since you can just subtract 20 from whatever myLeague says.
Player ages and contracts are all accurate, with the vast majority of jersey numbers being correct too. I couldn't be bothered to do things like accessories or season stats, my main concern was just making sure players were on proper contracts and were the correct age and had a fairly accurate overall rating. I mainly just want simulations to be accurate. I went and manually did the minutes of every team as well, but it seems to glitch every time I save it, making the rotations unusable in game. So teams end up just automatically setting minutes, which does result in bad/unrealistic rotations, but it is what it is. I'd probably just set the minutes for all teams manually once a myLeague sim begins for maximum realism.
There were tons of players which I created manually, with accurate vitals info, contracts, and decent looking faces for the most part. I also have sliders and game settings which give me really nice results in simulations and when I'm spectating in game. The main thing I think is necessary for this roster is changing salary cap and player salary expectations. All contracts are scaled up based on inflation, but they are still much lower than today's contracts. My recommended salaray settings are as follows:
Contracts:
Salary Cap Value (Millions): 104
Salary Cap Inflation Rate: 50
Hard Cap: On
Hard Cap Value (Millions): 200
Salary Expectations:
Min Rating: 60
Max Rating: 100
Salary Curve: 0
The next goal for this project is to make all the draft classes accurate. I have no idea why 2K leaves godly auto-generated players in there. If anyone can refer me to some good 2000s draft classes without auto-generated gods and maybe even with missing real life players, I would greatly appreciate it.
You can download this roster by searching for the creator name "zulu" when downloading a user made roster on 2K. Alternatively you can search content titled "2002-03 Roster 400+ REAL Player"
Any feedback is appreciated.
Again, search for user "zulu" to find my rosters, draft classes, etc. I put a lot of time and thought into all of them.
