Badger's NBA Live Fixes/Renovations/Tools - Camera Tool Released!

Hello everyone,

As I mentioned here, it is possible to fix aspect ratio for widescreen in NBA Live series. This way the players will not stretch anymore. There was another solution that involved hex editing the aspect ratio but this time FOV was not adjusted. Now it is possible to avoid clipping.

I also found a way to change available resolutions without hard modifying the executable. Big thanks to Dmitri from FIFA forums who helped me to code this stuff. I will continue to make fixes and improvements over executable functions as I learn C++ and reverse engineering.

Update: There is still some clipping but I am looking for a solution. However the changes will not require any hex editing anymore and the install will be pretty easy. Just stay tuned.

Players clipping on widescreen looks like a deeper problem than I expected. But I am working on other things.

Such as, creating a windowed mode in NBA Live 2005-08 without any external application.

three questions:

1. could you share windowed mode fix?
2. could you also fix issue when .exe file stays in the background after exiting the game?
3. are you going to make this also for live 07?

I fixed player clipping issue in NBA Live 2005. It needs to be worked upon but I found the function that disabled players

@murat, this is by far one of the greatest mods ever released for nba live 2005-08. hats down and thank you so, so much my friend

few questions though:

1. i assume this can't be used in nba live 2004, so do you plan the same for that game too?

2. is it somehow possible that, in the future, antialiasing setting could be improved/added?

also i wanted to share you something, that might be useful for you. this is the nhl 2004 launcher made by nhl 04 modding community member "vod". with this, nhl 2004 runs like any other newer game, also aliasing setting is included. take a look at this and see if you could have any use out of it:

Awesome work, Murat! Great perseverance to make this happen, it's great to see these classics receiving new mods and fixes to help them run and perform better on modern systems.

I also updated the aspect ratio of UI for NBA Live series. Here is a preview for NBA Live 2005. My new plugin will also allow users to set custom resolution for menus too. No more 640x480! This is still work in progress, as I need to update movies and loading bar too.

Sadly menus are designed to be 640x480 for 2005 and 06.

We have new updates ladies and gentlemen!

I fixed aspect ratio for UI components and provided a custom resolution for the menus. Therefore you don't need to run the game in 640x480 as you can change the resolution. Please re download both windowed mode and widescreen plugin, as their contents are merged into one ini file instead of separate ones.

Keep up the great work! Seeing this stuff definitely makes me want to play and mod those old games. The former is definitely something I'll do; the latter is something to think about, at least!
