Roster update:
- Knicks say Mitchell Robinson will have left ankle surgery this week and will be re-evaluated in 8-10 weeks.
- Zach LaVine will require an additional estimated 3-4 weeks to treat his current right foot inflammation.
- Spurs say center Charles Bassey tore the ACL in his left knee and will miss the remainder of the season. Bassey averaged 3.3 points and 4.0 rebounds in 19 games this season while shooting 72.5% from the floor. Bassey tore his ACL playing with the Austin Spurs on Sunday.
- The Boston Celtics have waived Nathan Knight, league sources told @hoopshype. Boston now has an open two-way spot.
- The Boston Celtics are singing in on free agent F Drew Peterson for a two-way contract, sources tell ESPN. He’s been playing with Sioux Falls of the G League
- The New York Knicks have waived Dylan Windler, team says.
- Free agent F/C Taj Gibson is returning to the New York Knicks on a one-year deal, Mark Bartelstein of @PrioritySports tells ESPN. With Mitchell Robinson sidelined with an injury, Tom Thibodeau has back one of his favorites. Gibson’s played for Thibodeau with the Bulls, Wolves, Knicks.
