Any Way to Fix Salary Demands of FAs?

In a Dynasty using updated rosters, Karl Malone begins as a FA demanding close to $7.8 million to sign him for 1 year. However, in real life, he would probably come back to the Lakers for the minimum, if he comes back at all. I already tried changing his salary in the players.dbf file, but for some reason FAs always demand the same thing. Is there any way to change this?

The heck with that! I'll just use the players dbf file to put him on my team 
Of course that's cheating. I seriously don't know though...I'm just wanted to express that I'm happy that somebody is still playing 2004 despite the 2005 craze.
