Another game, which I believe we might've done before, but it's been a while. You're stuck on an island, or perhaps spending a year inside a Biodome (fortunately, Pauly Shore and Stephen Baldwin are nowhere in sight). Which ten games, ten films, and ten TV show episodes do you choose to tide you over? No restrictions on multiple choices from the same series, if that's what you want.

Ahh, Dragons Dogma... totally could have added that to my list. Great game!

It definitely is, I bothered to get it on PC (via Steam Sale, list price was $30-- then was marked down by 67%). Coupled with improved frame-rate, better graphics, and mods it is easily one of my favorite games right now (especially on PC).

Three of the absolute best wrestling video games for sure. I'm also quite partial to Shut Your Mouth!, which came right before HCTP.

I really appreciate SmackDown: Shut Your Mouth as well since it was the first Ruthless Aggression WWE game, and the year my big brother and I started watching the shows religiously. Here Comes the Pain, for me personally, is Shut Your Mouth on steroids.

They added a lot that year for sure. From memory, the only real downgrade was the lack of commentary, and SYM did a better job of re-creating some famous late Attitude Era/early Ruthless Aggression era angles. HCTP had the better sandbox approach in its campaign/story mode, though.

This list likely serves as the Top 10 games I've spent the most hours of my life playing. It spans from middle school through college to the initial months of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the two basketball games I spent countless hours modding and playing here in this community. If I could expand it a hair, I'd probably add Mario Kart 64, Tecmo Super Bowl, Final Fantasy XV, NBA Live 95, Madden 2004, Gauntlet Dark Legacy, and countless others that I have sunk days and days of my life into over the last 4 decades.

One of my students asked me literally today what my favorite movie was and I absolutely just didn't have an answer. I've seen these all a dozen times apiece, and they're all the type of movie that, when I'm scrolling through the TV and I come across, I put them on and watch til the end. I'm sure I'm missing others, but these sort of rattled off pretty quick and easily. If we could go more, I'd have Gladiator on there, which was the first DVD I ever owned after transitioning from VHS. And some other comedies in the same vein as the ones listed, like Anchorman, or another great flick like Remember the Titans, or a movie like Knives Out which I really enjoyed, or even some of the other Rocky installments or Marvel movies I've watched a bunch of times.

There's so many great shows and episodes that just don't make the cut due to the constraint of 10. The list are episodes that either made me fall in love with and get fully hooked on a show, or unforgettable ones from shows I was already into. Aside from these, Abbott Elementary has some fantastic episodes, as does Parks & Rec, Stranger Things, Black Mirror, The Last of Us, and list goes on.

In hindsight, TV episodes is extremely tough; 10 TV shows would've been kinder! You've got some classics there for sure.
