Roster editing stat conversion

Postby dante24 on Sun Oct 23, 2022 3:36 am

Here's a quick vid on how to do it all.

I use Libre calc it's a cheap excel copy but the file is saved in excel so should work for everyone. But let me know if not and I'll try upload it on google sheets or something.

Note: if you see "~N/A" in the "Paste into 2k tool" sheet it's because the sheet cannot find the team abbreviation name. So TOT is changed to ATL in my vid

You can just use some excel formulas and copy paste from Bball Ref then copy right back in using the roster edit tool. I’ll look to see if I still have my sheet.

If you like to have real nba stats in your created rosters just like me then hopefully this spreadsheet can make pasting the data into Looyh 2K tool a lil bit easier.

1. Simply export the Totals data from basketball reference (of your desired player) to excel

bball data.PNG

2. Then copy the raw totals (Everything under the header) and paste into the 2k stats conversion spreadsheet (Orange tab) in sheet tilted "BBall ref"

3. In the 2k stats conversion spreadsheet go to the blue coloured sheet (titled "Paste into 2k tool") and copy the line for the stat year that you want to import into 2k23. Please note DO NOT copy the first column titled year this is just to help you navigate which line of stats you want.

4. Go into Looyh 2K tool and in the stats section click the drop down on the desired stat line (it doesn't have to be empty but will obviously overwrite if something is there) and then inside the "player stats editing" page click the 3 horizontal lines to paste from clipboard

Hopefully that's easy to follow if you need multiple years then you just repeat steps 3-4 for each stat line. I would have rather used something more sophisticated but excel/libre calc is what I have to hand.

Big thanks to Looyh for making such an incredible tool

Guys i need to start making rosters. But i dont know how to start or how its done. Is there a tutorial out there that can help me start creating rosters and modding them. Because so far no one has created any finished rosters. I gotta do myself i think

It would be better to start a new thread for this question bro that way more people will see.

But I can tell you that you just need Looyh's 2K tool to changes team/player data

What's the abbreviation for the team that the player played on that year?

If the abbreviation in "Tm" is not recognised by the sheet then you'll get "Ref.. error"

"TOT" for example just needs to be changed (in the bball ref sheet) to an actual nba team abbreviation for it to work
