Re: NBA 2K22 MyCAREER thread

Got a fight on my hands in the Finals with my 4th build.

(very close to this one: https://i.postimg.cc/9X8LncFW/mpd.jpg) I think I changed only the height or wingspan. PF - perimeter defender.

Was 12-0 in the playoffs before the Finals.
Now 2-2 in the Finals. Just lost game 4 in overtime (to the Grizzlies).

Am playing for the Knicks. Julius Randle has a broken leg and Mitchell Robinson was traded.

So it's D-Rose, Fournier, Barrett, me and Noel.

For some stupid reason the coach took me out in the last minute, and they came back to down 3 while I was on the bench.
Then I turned it over , and they hit the game tie-ing three to take it to OT.

Ah, the old "Let's take the star out and let the lead dwindle until we bring them back for their allotted minutes!" substitution logic strikes again!

28 point win in game 7.

Had my career high in blocks (with this player, 7), and equalled my career high in rebounds (9) in the clincher.

I made All NBA third team and All Defensive first team. Never did that with a rookie before.

What's really stupid by the way is that once a player gets injured, or returns from injury that the rotation changes.
Kemba Walker and Daniel Gafford started in game 7 because Randle returned.
You ought to get a notification for it imo.

Whenever I've created a big man build, I'm all about the dunks. Probably because it's a refreshing change from a playmaker that can shoot.

Grabbed the game for $10 from the Steam summer sale.

MyCAREER is the exact same as 2k20 aside from superfluous fluff. I can deal with the sameness except for the stupid practices. I'm sooo sick of these tedious drills. They need to space out the practices more or come up with a new system.

I thought the 2k20 story about the rift with the coach was pretty good. I can't connect with the 2k22 story. The main conflict is that I'm spending a little too much time on my YouTube channel? Okay...

I definitely agree with the canned animations problem mentioned earlier in this thread. Your player is incredibly sticky to NPCs. You can forget about rebounds as a guard, and you might as well go make a coffee while trying to sprint around a couple defenders to get open.

The caveat is that I can see an element of realism there. Freedom of movement in the older games feels good but definitely gives you a tactical edge. Anyone that has played further along in MyCAREER, do the canned animations and stickiness get better as you progress? I could understand and enjoy that element of progression.

So far it wasn't too bad, I got drafted by Detroit and currently am near finishing of the trade drama story arc. Sadly Detroit having number 1 pick in the draft is also not a great team. Now that I breached into 80 overall ratings I'm able to do consistent good scoring with double double in assists, sometimes triple double as well.
