Cyberface Help

Tue Jan 25, 2022 10:50 am

Hello Guys, Well i need help in cyberface creation, well i've been creating cyberfaces for a while now but never figuerd how to one thing, when you create a face_color file, in photoshop you need to have two layers (the one you created and another one for a base), the base is for shadowing on the face at least for what understood from working with it, the problem is, is whenever i need a certain or hair for a player (on the face_color file) the beard looks all faded because the base layer does not have the beard, and i have tried it with bases that do got beard put it ruined the rest of the face, does anybody know a way i can take my face_color creation and turning also for a base?

I think so, but I’ll try to explain that better, I’m using blender to create the face texture I’m working on, after that I save it and go back to photoshop, once in photoshop I need 2 layers the one that I edited and another that I guess it’s the alpha layer, and because the alpha layer is not the same picture as the face texture I made so once I go into the game, the face has faded looking areas, on the beard and on the eyebrows because they’re not Placed exactly the same on both different layers, so I’m trying to figure out how I’m making the alpha layer to match the face texture I made, i tried some stuff that didn’t work like, saving the face texture I made as a dds and then put it as the alpha layer, also tried to merge the face texture onto the alpha layer that I’m using and the put the texture again as the other layer, nothing worked tried to search videos on yt but I couldn’t find anything, so I’m trying to figure out what to do

yes, it has to be the alpha layer then.
The black areas of the alpha layer are usually the hair.
The white areas are for skin.

The darker the area the less effects the ingame lighting will have on it.
The lighter areas will be affected by lighting and sweat effects.

EDIT- More info
Your alpha layer can just be a grayscale version of the main face color texture
