Re: 2021-2022 NBA Season Discussion

Giddey was so close to breaking the record for youngest player to record a triple-double. He only needed 2 points in the fourth quarter, but frustratingly he couldn't get any shots to drop. 8 points, 18 rebounds and 10 assists is still an impressive stat line for a rookie guard.

I don't know why I thought he got one earlier in the season. That must've been an assist record I was thinking of.

While it's impressive what the Bulls are doing, we have to show some respect to the Cavs. Haven't seen much of them, and they don't play the Knicks again until late January.

It's been mentioned on social media a decent amount because he has looked on track to get it in a few games. But he keeps falling short.

Today he had 19p/5r/11a as OKC got revenge against the Grizzlies. So over his last two games at least he is averaging 13.5/11.5/10.5

That could be it. The distinction that I was thinking of was being the second youngest player with double digit assists, so I'd say I misremembered it as coming as part of a triple-double. In any event, it's awesome to see him finding success and garnering positive attention. He and Patty Mills are representing Australia well this year.

This a new era?

I don't know half the stars from great teams and LeBron is no longer great.

Giddey got the record! :bday: 17 points, 13 rebounds, 14 assists, 4 steals against Dallas.

Memphis looked dangerous last night....they're young, hungry and gaining confidence. Could they win a seven game series against Golden State or Phoenix in May? It'll be interesting.

Big eastern conference matchup tonight - Brooklyn vs. Chicago.

Honestly I took a step back from the nba I mean I still kept update with the trades etc and maybe this has a lot to do with health and protocol signings but I look at the league and the names of players and I feel like iam in year 6 of a myleague franchise

Ja Morant's block against the Lakers was insane. That's going to be on a lot of highlight reels moving forward!

Oh yeah the elbows on the backboard was crazy by Ja and that's todays point guard too lol, there is something that pulled me back into nba basketball and that although teams still shoot a lot of 3 players are going back to there strengths where players attack the rim more and as iam watching the Lakers vs kings right now I've seen a few times where a player comes down with an off rebound and doesn't look to pass straight back out to the 3 point line but goes straight back up and attacks the rim, this is the way the game should be played imo

I agree, it's almost heartwarming when you see players crashing the boards and getting those second chance points inside. I don't care how much the game "evolves"; some strategies are evergreen, because they're the logical plays to make.

I think In my mind the only person I can except seeing kicking the ball out off a rebound is Rodman when you Jordan to pass too, in this occasion when Harrison Barnes came down and when straight back up strong I don't think the Lakers knew what to do and like you said that's just how basketball should be played, the basket resulted in an and1 too

Iggy's pass was ridiculous. I mean, a shame it came in a dominating win over the Bulls, but it was a great pass.

Warriors and Suns have more cats that are battle-tested come playoff time. That could hurt a young squad like Memphis. In May and June, your strengths/weaknesses are magnified, the pace slows and every possession is crucial. I can't wait to see what they do.

I have to start paying more attention to the Cavs - fourth in the east, with a 27-18 record, and they beat the Nets tonight.

Garland and Mobley have been elite

The Cavs and Heat have very quietly been rising up the ranks in the East to suddenly be in position to have the best record in the conference, should the Bulls and Nets falter.

Iam off this week so having a true nba week watching as many games live as possible, Knicks were yesterday. Steven Adams picking up Tony Bradley and walking him off while Ja's windmill layup and Westbrook dunking on Rudy were amazing to see

I'm all for physicality and whatnot, but Grayson Allen is just a dirty player. The fact that he was once again smirking while he was being ejected speaks volumes about whether or not it was intentional (it clearly was). If he's doing that to LeBron or another big name player, he's probably getting a hefty fine and lengthy suspension. It shouldn't be any different just because it's "only" Caruso.

Again, playing hard and physicality is one thing, and accidents will happen. Such is the nature of the sport. That wasn't what that was, though. Disgraceful.

1000% he knew what he was doing mate, if he just hit hard with the left arm like they said during the game it would of been just an 80's style hard foul which I have no problems with but the fact that he swung mid air to grab with the right hand to make sure Alex was taken down resulting in an injury deserves a suspension in my eyes and like Andrew said he has a long history of things like this

Allen is lucky this isn't the old NBA, Andrew. Try this sh*t in the 70s, 80s, even 90s, and there'd be serious payback.
