October 31st - New manager hired to turn Clippers around

The Clippers announced the hiring of Gilad Eshkoli as the new manager of the playoff-less team from Los Angeles.

Eshkoli, an Israeli manager and a known genius at personnal, got a call from the Clippers owner as he wanted to hire his services for the next 3 years with his beloved team. Eshkoli agreed right away as he saw a chance go show his skills at the highest level there is, the National Basketball Associaiton.

The owner wanted a new fresh start and fired Sterling, who has been known for his cheap pockets, and he hired right away Eshkoli prior to the season, to try and make the team a better franchise in the NBA.

The owener suggested he could use a different direction.
A foreigner was a nice decision by him, as Eshkoli already led his former team to winning the ULEB Cup in Europe with Hapoel Jerusalem, who plays in his country, Israel.

Both the Owner and the new manager looking forward to starting a magical season together.
The first game is against the Sonics at home in a few days, and Eshkoli is already trying to make some changes.

Clippers (74) - Sonics (100)

Nov. 3rd
- Clippers got super blown by Supersonics.

Season opener, and the Clippers failed to stay in the game as they only trailed by 8 at the end of intermission.
The Sonics won 100-74 after a great 35-10 run in the 2nd half.
Brand, Meggette and Jaric didn't manage to keep their team alive in the first game of the season, but the Manager doesn't seem to worry about that.
"It was just the first game, and I think we are headed for a good season although the first one wasn't the best we could have hoped for." Said Eshkoli. "Elton, Jaric and Corey showed me what they can do in the open court, I would try to get us more athletic so we could use this to our adventage. The question is which player I'm going to bring here that will help us now in the long-run"

Brand - 22 points, 8 rebounds and 3 blocks.
Meggette - 15 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals.
Jaric - 8 points, 8 assists, 4 steals and 2 rebounds.

For the Sonics, Ray Allen scored 37 points and Lewis contributed another 17 as Seattle won their 1st game of the season.

Next game - agains the Blazers on the road.

Blazers (81) - (78) Clippers

Nov. 5 - Clippers got Blazed away by Portland

After the Clippers faild to win in their season opener, they came away close to win in their 2nd game of the season.
The Blazers trailed most of the game, but in the end came away with the victory. Portland had a 15-6 run at the end of 4 quarter to smash a winless team's hopes away as always.
We were very close at all stages of the game, but we just couldn't put it away like we did in pre-season." Said Coach M.Dunleavy, at the press-conference after the game. "We should probably work even harder to try and make us better as the season goes".

Brand - 14 points, 6 rebounds and 1 block.
Kaman - 8 points, 8 rebounds and 4 blocks.
Meggette - 10 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists.

For Portland, Randloph was solid as he scored 12 points and pulled down 9 rebounds. Miles and Abdur-Rahim were nice as well with 10 points and 6 rebounds, each.

Next game - against the Warriors on the road.

Nov. 6 - The Clippers will host a press-conference at 3p.m (ET).

Friday, CALIFORNIA - The Clippers are expected to announce the waive of guard Doug Overton and foward Bobby Simmons, as the manager has stated he would like to add some more athletic players to his current team.

As this is all speculation, the local press doesn't think that at this early stage of the season the manager will trade anyone, but as we notice in recent years, everything can happen in the NBA.

"I can't really say what will happen this afternoon". Said Eshkoli. "I can just say we are going to improve a little. Whether it will be by free agency, a trade or just waiving players will remain to be seen."

Manager Eshkoli is known for setting his goals and achieve them very quick and with ease. It's Eshkoli first visit in the NBA, and he hopes it won't be a short one, as he will try to prove he can handle the pressure.

Nov 6. - The Clippers traded Shaun Livingston and Bobby Simmons !

Clippers.com reported that the new manager traded their rookie to Atlanta. The manager felt that after Livingston showed no athletic skills and no signs he can actually lead his team to victories he traded him.
Atlanta got Shaun Livingston and Bobby Simmons and the Clippers got the very athletic Josh Smith, the 3-pt sharpshooter Jon Barry and a 1st rounder in the future.

Manager Eshkoli said many things at the press-conference, but the most important quote was that he was "Happy to got this deal down as soon as now. I feel that we got much more athletic, and we are going to be able to bring Jaric to his natural spot again, the starting PG position."

So to conclude the deal, here's a chart of the players who got traded:

Atlanta received - Shaun Livingston and Bobby Simmons.
Clippers received - Josh Smith, Jon Barry and a 1st rounder.

Livingston averaged about 5ppg, 1.5rpg and 3apg.
As for Simmons who averaged 0.5ppg and 1rpg.

Newcomer Josh Smith averaged 8ppg, 5rpg and 1.5bpg and veteran Jon Barry averaged 6ppg, 2rpg and 1apg.
