I'm not seeing what you are seeing. And showing someone dribble, which is an animation, isn't really fair. I thought it would be a video of passing or rebounding.

The ball did look a little weird going back into Lukas hand when it should have bounced, I guess that was probably a cancel out of a dribble animation.

You are right, there is no physics involved in the majority of the ball movement and interactions, all is pure linear interpolation and scripted animations, one of the main reasons on why the game looks so clunky and stiff for the past few years and is getting worse on every new one.

Current gen gameplay looks better to me honestly. I really dont care for the new graphics they actually look more fake to me... game needs a complete overhaul. I just started playing 2k14 on ps4 for the first time as i didnt have a new system when it first came out. Wow, they need to start with that again.
