Talk about NBA 2K21 here.
Sun Dec 20, 2020 3:31 pm
Hi all,
Okay, not technically for free... I'll be paying for it during the sale...
I am feeling in the holiday spirit, and would like to gift a copy of the game through Steam to THREE people who do not currently own the game.
Comment below with your favorite basketball video game of all time, and your favorite basketball video game memory, and I will randomly select three of the responders to receive the game!
*This contest is only good until 11am EST on Sunday December 20th.

NBA 2K14 for old-gen.
Had my most fun modding 2k14. Just creating projects with loads of NLSC members (kahoona was my fav to work with because of our NEXT GEN project) and collaborating with very knowledgeable people like slimm for rosters.
NBA 2K17 for next-gen
Best in terms of gameplay and graphics since the next-gen came. No 2k ever came close to this in the NG era.
Favorite moment was definitely my created player in 2k17 getting his ankles broken by James Harden while he hit the game winner. That stuck with me because I never thought it was possible to get your ankles broken if you were controlling the defender but.... alas. Which reminds me.... I gotta power up '17 again.

Obviously you would only get one.
But it is wild that you are the only one to comment so far.... I guess people don't even want 2K21 for free...

My favorite game, and I mean the one I’d still play right now over all the rest, is NBA 2K11. And I can go on for days about why that is. I still mod for it to this day. But my memory is with that very game, when my nephew got it for Christmas, and they had it on during the holiday party. I had already got the game the day it released so I had a months worth of practice. Well I proceeded to run a gauntlet on every teenager in the house that day with the 98 Utah Jazz, relative and non relative, while they were in disbelief.

I'd say NBA Live 06 would be my favorite and my best memory would be finding out 2005 was doing a slam dunk contest and playing it for the first time since that was a feature we waited so long for!

Hey,
My favourite has to be my introduction to NBA 2K series, which was NBA 2K09 for me. At that time I came from Live series and the 2K was a real improvement for me. But the best memory was the first game on fresh new install of NBA 2k10. It was the first time I set difficulty to superstar and played Lakers vs Celtics, and it was really hard for me back then, but managed to win the game by 1 point with Kobe's mid range fadeaway at the end of the 4th quarter. It felt really good

Hi all,
Thank you for participating in this event. As stated prior, the contest ended at 11am EST today, and the only two people who responded prior were Kevin and Culture.
However, by the time Kevin accepted my friend request on Steam, the sale was over (1pm EST). I was unable to gift to him without him being a friend on Steam...so I had to gift to him at full price... they removed the ability to gift via email.
So here is what I will do. For the others who responded in here, I will give you a $10 Steam gift card (even though the contest was already over). Please add me as a friend on Steam (Derekferland4433) so I can gift you the $10.
Note: again, the contest is over, so no more submissions.
Thanks,

I have not. Recently I picked up NBA Street Homecourt... was slightly underwhelmed by it.
NBA Street Volume 2 will forever be my favorite Street game.

Big thanks to Derek for running this giveaway! Hopefully it's something we can do more often. Next time Green Man Gaming has a sale, I'll grab some keys.
Also, it's great to see people sharing fun memories about assorted basketball games. Let's keep that going in general.

So yeah, some parallels here.
For me, 2K14 mods is what got me back into PC gaming. Between all the globals that were made, the UBR/URB, no icon mod, and so much more... 2K14 and the mods that came with it from this community changed basketball gaming for me forever.
And 2K17 is not only my most modded 2K, but easily one of my favorite basketball video games of all time. It still gets played every week where I live. It was the last game with the old motion system, and the gameplay just feels really polished.
Thanks for sharing!

NBA 2K11 is still widely considered the greatest basketball video game ever made (some say 2K16 as well). So no surprise here.
We actually talked about holiday memories on the NLSC podcast recently, as Josh and Dave from Namo Gamo were interested in hearing if we had any stories. They would be glad to hear that you dominate with the 98 Jazz, they are HUGE Jazz fans.
Thanks for sharing!
