The Story:
----------------------------------------------------
It's a warm sunny morning in july, i wake up, take a nice cold shower, drink a nice cup of folgers coffee, and i'm off to work. I get out of my house, start my silver honda accord, and pick up the New Jersey Star Ledger on the front lawn. I hop into my car thinking to myself what new events have occured in this boring life. as i skim through the text i see numerous headlines such as"What do we expect of John Kerry?" and "More troops to Iraq?". Finally i reach the sports section and the front page leaves my mind in shock. i just couldn't believe my eyes when i read it:"New Jersey Net Kenyon Martin traded for three draft picks?" All i could say in my mind was, 'this is a joke, right?' 'Ok' I thought to myself, 'well its not really the end of the world is it?'

The following week, i come home from a stressful day of working and experimenting on a breakthrough invention: this time machine device in the works since i first got this job. As I try to rid my mind from formulas and equations, i'm engulfed by my classy black sofa with white pinstripes. I boot up my Dell PC, click on Internet Explorer, and go straight to http://www.nba.com/nets to check up on the progress. It reads, "Long time Net Kerry Kittles traded to clippers" I wasn't fully dissapointed, thinking we traded for someone like Marko Jaric, but to my dismay, we traded him for a second round draft pick! In my mind I thought that the Nets management has gone crazy. I had to do something to stop this madness!

The next day, I go to the laboratory to fix the time machine. I was so close! It was so close to being finished and a light bulb had gone off in my head! The formula was... But I was fatigued to a great extend and my head fell straight on my desk... I fell into a deep sleep...

I wake up, look at the time and it reads 8:25 AM. I'm late for work! I get dressed, and hop into my Accord. I whip out my cellphone and it reads: 8:45 AM, June 27th, 2004. How could this be? It, it can't be... It was probably just the wrong date. But when i arrived in the laboratory, all the clocks showed June 27th, 2004. Had i gone mad? Thinking to myself, what posibilities could have been... Wait! It had to be the time machine! It must've been activated while i was asleep... Another thought pops into my head... But wait, the Nets! They're still intact and the Bruce Ratner ownership hadn't been approved yet! A whole plethora of ideas kept bursting in my head for the next hour and I had a plan...

I contacted Nets management, and the clerk picked up the phone, "Hello, New Jersey Nets Management, how may I help you?" I replied, "May i speak to the owner please?" After a couple of days, i recieved a phone call by the owner. I said, "I'm willing to buy the New Jersey Nets Basketball Team. May we discuss terms?" The owner said, "Well you do have some competition sir, but I'm listening..."

The next week, i recieve another phone call from the owner stating that he will sell the team to me! I thought to myself, "Now we're in business, we can save this team!"

Transactions:
----------------------------------------------------
Update: We were really impressed with Darius Rice's shooting ability, but all other aspects of his game were not up to par. We haven't been too impressed with Kyle Davis either. Both have been waived and will not be on the roster. After being waived by Golden State, Brandon Armstrong was back in free agency. He was signed, due to the fact that he has been with the Nets before, and he nows the system well.
----------------------------------------------------
Offseason: Kenyon Martin was still on the block, because of his desire to a max contract. Instead of sending him off for three measley draft picks, he was sent along with Lucious Harris for Nene, Voshon Lenard, and a first round draft pick. With Nene, we can have a growing power forward with great talent, and we get a huge perimeter threat with Voshon Lenard. Kerry Kittles was a role player on the team, as he gives great offense on the break as well as a perimeter shot, and with much underrated perimeter defense. He also brings veteran leadership along with a cast of Jason Kidd, Voshon Lenard, and Aaron Williams. We then decided to sign sharp-shooting rookie Darius Rice, rookie center Kyle Davis, second round draft pick Christian Drejer, and veteran PG Travis Best to beef up our bench. Nenad Krstic has also arrived from Europe and he will become a vital part of our team. We've lost Rodney Rogers as well as Brandon Armstrong to free agency.

News:
Update: Jason Kidd has seemed to further extend the time of his rehabilitation from surgery over the summer. He will be out of uniform until the end of December. The Nets take a huge hit from this, and must fill this whole in for the time being.
----------------------------------------------------
Offseason: Alonzo Mourning has been performing very outstanding in training camp and we've to decided to put him back on the roster. He will of course, start off the bench

Nice start.

Good trade for Nene, you still end up losign K-Mart but not in such a wack way, adds some realism.

I was wondering how you got Marko Yaric though, i'm assuming you traded Harris for him.

Anyway good luck, I look fowardto more recaps

It's about time somebody made a good Nets dynasty...Other than me of course

I really like your story of your time machine and buying the Nets, I couldn't seem to live through the trades either.

Looks like you got yourself a well-rounded team with some promising young players and your veterans.

Good luck with your dynasty (Y).
