My NBA 2K21 on Xbox Series S is HORRIBLE (update 9/12)

Gentlemen, I don't know what happens, my new Xbox Series S arrived today and I started downloading the NBA 2K21 but when entering the game (which has not yet completed the download) the game is HORRIBLE !!!

Textures totally blurred and with slow down !!! Is this due to being finished downloading?

The PC game in 1080p old gen here is EXTREMELY SUPERIOR ....

What scares me is that I already played the 2K21 old gen demo on PS4 PRO and it looked very good, in terms of resolution and sharpness!

I actually deleted my post now that I've played it more.

I REALLY enjoy the lighting, and the fact that they put it on a lot of the classic teams as well. Gives life to the game... they could have done this with last gen (and did in a couple of the games), but nonetheless I appreciate it.

Footplanting is better, the gameplay with the regular teams is much improved. Of course, a lot if slider tweaks were needed to loosen the gameplay up. And the classic teams and all time teams are not fun to play with at all because that are copy and paste, rush jobs, and the teams play unrealistically slow.

The Xbox Series S doesn't have the hardware to push for true 4K gaming for most games.

I feel the need to point out that I run almost all my games on PC on 1080P, and the games do not look washed out, including games like NBA 2K16, Horizon Zero Dawn, Monster Hunter World, NBA 2K14 PC, etc

Games still look fantastic in 1080p.

NBA 2K21 for next gen may look not as good because of the graphic direction they went in, it may indeed look better in 4K (I like the lighting on series X)

I talked with Andrew about this a little bit, I don't even see a big difference in a lot of games with 4K. For instance, the game I just mentioned above (Horizon Zero Dawn), my brother has had it on PC in 1080P while I had it on PS4 Pro in 4K, and the PC version looked absolutely amazing, obviously had better performance, and we couldnt even tell the difference graphics wise.

Lagoa says in his post he is comparing to 1080P old gen.... so again, we are talking 1080p vs 1080p

Yes, as I said before, it’s not just that 4k doesn’t work well on Series S. The game is a DISASTER on the artistic side.

You clearly notice 3D models with failed hair due to the low LOD level ... headbands are completely broken over short distances because of that too. The game has slowdowns all the time ....

The constant stuttering and terrible FPS in the edit player screen, during shootaround, when they are going for the tip, during highlights (halftime and otherwise) etc is NOT what I expected. That happens on the series X as well. You cant even edit your player at a smooth framerate.

Again, not what I was expecting out of next gen. The art direction with the jerseys (where they look like they are stuck to the players bodies during gameplay), reminds me alot of NBA 09 for PS3

NBA 2K21 next gen is a beautiful game to be played in REPLAY MODE! There it is incredible, shadows, textures, details ....

Just go to the gameplay and it turns into garbage! I asked for a refund yesterday and Microsoft / Xbox has already accepted my order!

I will remain happy on my NBA 2K20 PC!

PS: Iverson is TERRIBLE in the next gen!

NBA 2K21 next gen is a beautiful game to be played in REPLAY MODE! There it is incredible, shadows, textures, details ....

Just go to the gameplay and it turns into garbage! I asked for a refund yesterday and Microsoft / Xbox has already accepted my order!

I will remain happy on my NBA 2K20 PC!

it's really hard to go back to console after playing 2K on PC. I couldn't do it for 20 as the game kept stuttering like crazy. Hopefully I get my S next week, but I told myself I'm not getting 2K21 at full price.

As I understand it, by having a 4K TV, the Series S understands that it must pass the game signal in 4K, even though the game is 1080P in the Series S and this simply DESTROYS the game's graphic quality, as it makes a horrible upscaling!

That is, it is 100% the fault of 2K Sports, which should put a way to force the game in the menu, in 1080p.

Anyway, forcing the Series S to run at 1080p the game is VERY BEAUTIFUL ... much clearer. Almost at the PC level in 1080p but with the Next Gen lighting (which is much better than the PC)

Anyway, I wanted to come back here to tell that to anyone who wants to play it in Series S.

ahh... so in Series S display settings I just revert the console to 1080p?
