Modding Scoreboards

Hi can anyone give me a step by step walk through and modding and installing scoreboards. Ive watched multiple videos and did everything in those videos and they still wont work. I have had no problem installing other mods like cyberfaces and lighting etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated
