I was just wondering how people play their Dynasty. I don't mean length of season or length of games but rather how you manage your team.
Myself, I never give anyone a contract that's 7yrs long, unless this is the only option, and the player is worth it. I tend to give 3yr contracts to players I like to use and 2yr contracts to players that I've acquired through a trade and haven't gotten fully aquainted with them.
Do you guys go for a Franchise player or build with depth? I always go for depth. I especially like a strong bench that can contribute. I hate playing with a weak bench and having my starters fatigued. I like to give all players good rest.
Also, If i get a draft pick in the area of 20+ I forfeit the pick unless the draft is prjected Strong of Very Strong. Otherwise the player is a drain on the cap and ends up taking away from my FA money. I always forfeit the 2nd rnd draft pick too.
I like to play 2 Dynasties, this is quite helpful as in my other Dynasty I can see which players are good to use and then in my main Dynasty, Detroit, I can get those players. It's a good way to incidentally experiment
How do ppl use their cap space? I tend to sign 2 good players rather than 1 star, unless that star is someone like Shaq, Duncan, Garnett, T-Mac or Kobe.
Any useless players I have I end up trading for the largest possible expiring contract
As far as Dynasty points are I use them to address weaknesses. I barely 'practice' because they seem counter productive. If my team doesn't have enough 3 point shooters I'll get a season length of increased 3pnt rating, and if my big guys aren't that good I'll buy the "increase inside scoring rating" for my bigs.
Has anyone actually switched from one franchise 2 another after winning 2 championships? I haven't done so but I've had plenty of offers. It'd feel weird not playing with D
