two queries:

1 - which config file shall i use and which roster is this designed to work with Thunder shaQ?
2 - is it possible to assign this to the list supplied by maumau78 to be able to use these across different rosters?

1 - Thunder Shaq's retro roster config is in the "config\retro" folder. His 2010 and 2011 rosters config is in the "config\2010" folder.

*Edit: Also, the configs are in the Mod Automation Toolkit in the same folders here: Mod Automation Toolkit

And you can copy and paste them from this post as well: viewtopic.php?f=258&t=109576 *

2 - I used mauma78's list for all the configs I've made. Unfortunately, every roster has different team id's, so there's no way to make a universal config, but if there's a specific roster you'd like me to do, let me know.

I just realized that the batch files are relying on the college mod to be installed for them to work properly. Here is the patch to fix. Just overwrite your batches and you should be good to go. The next update will include this correction.

I checked your dornas with Thunder Shaq roster it's enhances the retro experience to maximum levels.

Just wish i could use this with Dest-roster because i have been using it prior to shaq thunder uploading his roster online, and all my player attributes, shoes, adjusted shooting mechanics are in there, would be a months work to try to use shaq thunder permenantly..

Can you teach me two things so i can just enjoy these dornas on dest-roster:

1 - how do i assign your dornas to retro teams in the config file
2 - how do i assign courts to teams, cause i wish to use new courts created by sith on retro teams as the texture is higher in quality, retro courts are eye sore

Wow, this is really cool. Adds that extra touch to old arenas. I miss those Sprite ads!

Unfortunately, my computer has completely crashed. I ordered a new one online, but it won't be coming in for about a week. So, you won't be seeing much of me until I get the new one set up.

I plan on doing a more thorough step by step tutorial with pics once I get things going.

If anyone is having trouble getting it set up, the easiest thing you can do is copy the three files inside of config/retro or config/default (depending on which roster you want to use) over to the NBA2K_Hook folder.

This mod will not work without Looyh's NBA 2kHook installed first: viewtopic.php?f=258&t=108024

AHHH mand suck to hear that hope you fix your comp and come back strong -sometimes all you have to do is just replace the power supply if the computer is not turning on or maybe just reinstall windows ,but always remember to have a external HDD for files goood luck bro see you soon.

Thanks man. It's actually the motherboard so it's a goner, but I have the files backed up. Should be good to go once the new one arrives later this week.

Here is the guide for beginners to get things up and running.


Step 1:

Get the NBA 2K20 External File Plugin for Waigua.

Step 2:

Get NBA 2K Hook by Looyh:

Step 3:

Extract both tools into your NBA 2K Game Folder. It should look like the picture below.



Step 4:

Copy the files from the "NBA 2K Game Folder" into your game folder and overwrite when asked.

See below for how it should look.



Now, the retro dornas should work on all the teams on the default roster.

Step 5 (optional):

Copy the config file inside the corresponding roster to the NBA2K_Hook folder.

For example, if you had downloaded ThunderShaq's Ultimate Retro Roster, the config would be located in "*game folder*\config\retro". To use, you would copy the config.ini file from there to the NBA2K_Hook folder.

The config folders represent the following:

90 = dmx_133's 1989 - 1990 Roster (viewtopic.php?f=258&t=108680)

97 = Thunder Shaq's 1996-97 Roster (viewtopic.php?f=258&t=109897)

2001 = RMJH4's NBA 2K1 (viewtopic.php?f=258&t=109688)

2010 = Thundershaq's 2010/2011 roster.

college = (RobDavis) Fictional College Hoops 2K20 (viewtopic.php?f=258&t=107877)

default = Default Roster

Retro = ThunderShaq's Ultimate Retro Roster: (viewtopic.php?f=258&t=107928)

Tournament = (RobDavis) Fictional College Hoops 2K20 (March Madness Mode)

Step 1: Make sure your game folder matches mine:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\NBA 2K20"



If it's the same, go to step 4.

Step 2:

Go into the config folder and edit each batch.



Step 3:

Change the folder to your game folder.




Step 4:

Run the corresponding batch:

90.bat = dmx_133's 1989 - 1990 Roster (viewtopic.php?f=258&t=108680)

97.bat = Thunder Shaq's 1996-97 Roster (viewtopic.php?f=258&t=109897)

2010.bat = Thundershaq's 2010/2011 roster.

If they're working, congratulations, you are automating!

Step 5: Create shortcuts from your batches to wherever you run the game from.

Step 6 (if you want these mods): When copying over (RobDavis) Fictional College Hoops 2K20 and the 1995-1996 Season Mod (laroche23), rename these files and folders accordingly:

College mod:

waigua > college

NBA2K20.exe > NBA2K20_college_d.exe



1995-1996 Season Mod:

waigua > 96

NBA2K20.exe > NBA2K20_96_d.exe

Here's what it should look like:




* You can substitute these mods for anything you want. They just need to have the same folder name and NBA2K20.exe name. You would also need to replace the config at config/*mod name*/config.txt

EDIT: Just to clarify, if you're referring to support for the TwisT's NBC watermarks, sticky-fingers 90s referees, or laroche23's upcoming 96 roster, that hasn't dropped yet, but the update from yesterday is completely uploaded. My goal is to do weekly updates on the weekends.

I'm right there with you. That is actually on my agenda to begin working on next week. First though, I want to add stadium ads to the rosters currently supported, so here's hoping I can stay on track!
