The cleanest way to do it is to download paint.net. Take the eraser tool at roughly 5 pt line and outline the whole thing by erasing it. Use the magic wand at >70% to select everything inside the outline. Hit Control+I to select the inverse. Delete it. Then open the .iff of any portrait file and open the .dds file inside. Take your new image and paste it over the top. Delete the original layer. Save it and rename the file to whatever the ID is and drop it in modded folder.

My game crashes when i go to check the portrait? Why is it?
