I have heard a rumour that the framerates on ps2 are really bad. Should I change my mind about geting the ps2 version? I'm not sure if my graphics card will handle pc version. Can someone please confirm whether the ps2 version is bad or not?

Being Australian like yourself, I haven't got the game yet. But from reviews from posters I've read on RealGM.com about the PS2 version, the graphics are fantastic, the game overall is awesome.
Hope that helps some.

Yeah, thanks mate! I wasn't worried until my friend showed me something that said it was terrible but I thought it may have been just a piece of crap email or something. I just wanted some confirmation that the ps2 version runs nicely.

I wouldnt know how it is for the PS2. But i have it for XBOX and the graphics are very good.

when i heard that the ps2 version was worse than xbox, i:
1) wasn't surprised..seeing as though the xbox is a more powerful machine.
2) called eb and changed my pre-order for live from ps2 to pc.
p.s. i was gonna get it for both ps2 and pc anyway, but if the framerate is sucky i will not even bother spending 90 bucks on the ps2 version.
hopefully the pc version comes out about the same time as ps2 down here.

thats too bad its a good thing i have an xbox

The XBox framerate is nothing to write home about, so I imagine that with the PS2 it's either worse, or that image quality suffers to make-up for a lack of horsepower.

my friend has it for ps2 and he said there's almost no slowdown problems at all in it only a little bit but it's not that annoying or noticleble ill be getting my ps2 copy next thursday aka the 14th of october.

Xbox will be better as it was released later with more power but don't doubt what the PS2 can do. It can run this game easy with no slowdowns whatsoever.
The only time you can feel the slow down is through online play and I know it's the PS2 not the internet because Madden does not do what Live does or it might be Live is not tweaked for online as Madden is, I don't know I guess.

Just upgrade to an ATI 9800pro and get the game for PC - you won't regret it. The 9800pro is the best cost/performance value card out there right now - and you'll be able to play the game at the highest details. Of course I don't have Live05 yet, but I can play 04 at highest details and resolution of 1024X768 super smooth.

I have the PS2 version and to tell u honestly guys, the ps2 version is a bit choppy and there are some minor glitches in the crowds. I haven't seen the Xbox version but I heard it also suffer from frame rate issue but not as much compares to the PS2 and Gamecube version.

Whats your name on realgm.com, just wondering cuz I post there a lot. I'm ezzioo on realgm.com.
Also, I have played the ps2 version and found that the game was phenominal, and that I have never played a better game in my life, and prolly wont until 2006 comes out.

I noticed a slight lagging problem once in a while... it happened when I was shooting a 3 pointer too, so it does get annoying

This might be nitpicking, and while this was true for at least the last 6 months, it isn't necessarily true anymore. The new king in that department are cards based on nVidia's 6600, which costs about the same as a 9800Pro, but outperforms significantly. Additionally, it is set for future games as it supports Shaders 3.0. The only drawback is that it is PCI-Express exclusive (at least atm), so if you do not have PCI-E slots (and no older PC has them, AGP is still the standard there), you cannot use the card.
Just some info

That's exactly what I did. One day I thought, you know what, I'm excited about NBA Live 2005 and my GeForce 3 Ti is not going to do the job as well as a new card. So I went out and bought an ATI Radeon 9800Pro, and it is amazing!

Are you nuts? You don't even know anything about PS2? Go do some study.

Furthermore, please don't insult other forum members like that.

Perhaps, you should also see NBA Talk forum and tell this user "Carmo" not to insult me again.
In NBA Talk forum, he write to me like:
*u speak wrong. did you go to school? "More bad news for title hopefuls... Talk"
*Seriously, stop saying what everyone else has already said!!!! "Hawks Will Offer Joe Johnson A Max Contract Talk"
*what the hell??? I think your posts are probably my least favourite out of everyone else in the forum! "Scalabrine Signs With Celtics Talk"
For "u speak wrong. did you go to school?" What is he referring to? He is insulting from there first.
For "Seriously, stop saying what everyone else has already said!!!!" People have their own opinion and some peoples might have the same opinion, is there anything wrong of expressing my own opinion even if they are the same? He insult me again.
For"what the hell??? I think your posts are probably my least favourite out of everyone else in the forum!" See, this guy is having a problem, I think he insulting me more than I insulting him.

Don't give me that. You started off by insulting him in the Wishlist section, mocking his post and adding "Did you go to school?" (when what he said made perfect sense). You've resurrected a thread that's almost a year old to mock him. You're bringing the negative reactions upon yourself with some of your remarks. If you act the way you have been, other forum users are not going to take too kindly to it.

Actually he started first with "u speak wrong. did you go to school?" in More bad news for title hopefuls... forum. You can check the date. I would never do such thing like that unless the users is keep making insulting sentences in my response. I always talk friendly to other users in the forum.
So now are you saying that all of his comment is all perfect? You don't think any of his comment is also insulting me? What about this "Seriously, stop saying what everyone else has already said!!!!" I was just making my own opinion and even other users has already mentioned before. Is there an issue with that? or should I say "I agree" Also "what the hell??? I think your posts are probably my least favourite out of everyone else in the forum!" He is totally disrespecting any of my comments. I was just talking NBA trade at that time. And you think he is still doing the right thing? You don't thing any of his comments is negetive? You should rethink.

I stand corrected. But there was no need for the continued retaliation.

I do not consider bumping up a thread that's been inactive for more than 6 months to mock somebody friendly behaviour.

What it comes down to is you want the freedom to retaliate and mock him, but you're crying foul when Carmo does the same thing. If you just leave it be, the situation will go away. And if he keeps coming after you, then he's at fault.
You should rethink.
I've made my decision on the matter. As I said, just leave the situation alone. If Carmo comes after you, then I'll deal with the situation accordingly. But if you're going to dish out insults, you have to be prepared for the backlash. If you're going to retaliate, it just keeps going on and on.

Thankyou for understanding of what I am expressing. I will leave the situation alone from now on and forever. But if Carmo again write something against my comments without any particular reason, you must tell Carmo to stop doing this type of action because it make me flame. I have absolutely no problem with other users in the forum as they are all user friendly to talk to.
