Why 2K14?

Hello,

I got a copy of 2K14 last year and have been playing it a lot lately especially with all of the great mods available. Before that I played 2K9 and 2K11 on and off and have looked at the newer release, but haven't bought any.

But I am wondering why you stick with 2K14 and not move onto the newer games. This is not a criticism or anything like that, but I was just asking those of you who play this game more than I do, what makes you keep playing 2K14?

You answered your own question. All of the great mods. NBA 2K14 has all of the tools available to make the mods and tutorials needed for beginners and veterans alike. Some prefer the gameplay for 2K11 or 2K13. Newer versions of NBA 2K (15-20) are not as easy to mod, tools are not as easy to use or not available. Until this year very few tutorials were made. i keep getting back to older games recently... every title before 2k14 was better (speaking of pc versions) than 2k14 itself (gameplay wise and some of them even graphics wise).

The mods definitely help maintain its popularity. On top of that, not everyone has been able to afford to upgrade to play the newer games, and not everyone likes the direction they've taken in terms of gameplay and the recurrent revenue mechanics (all the VC-driven stuff), so there's interest in sticking with an old favourite and keeping it up to date to have the best of both worlds.
