It's bigger because they added the WNBA with totally new commentators.

And because they never clean the old games files

And new art assets for Neighbourhood, new story assets (they generally keep old models and textures and reuse them, for example the cop from 2K16 was a student, assistant coach and a ref), ...

Just finished the pre-load. Isn't 77.7 GB a bit much?

I thought so aswell, once you have fibre optic it literally takes 11 minutes to download

if you have F.O, preload is pretty useless because if i remember well, files are encrypted until the official release, and decrypt takes a while even on SSD.

It depends. Some games have only the executable(s) encrypted. Some games have all the stuff encrypted.

Either way it's a function of drive speed and CPU power.

It's a time-saver at least. It's more useful for those with slower connections, but it's still convenient to have it there ready to go as soon as the clock ticks over and it's activated.

Still waiting for my key from GMG. They were quicker last year.

Sorry for stupid question but "PRE-LOAD" means download? It's normal, full version, not demo?

Pre-load means you download most files before the release so that you can play the minute the game is released (obviously with certain limitations like said decryption of data).

Not to be confused with Prelude which is what 2K called it's MyCareer demos.



Also as far as I'm concerned, I'll be in front of my local shop in 13 hours (9 am then) to pick up my physical copy for xbox.
