Vince Carter will play his final season of his 22 year career in Atlanta. The 22 seasons sets a record and if he plays in 2020 he will be the only player to have played in 4 different decades.

Credit to him for not joining one of the favourites to contend and keeping that mentor role, though I wouldn't have begrudged him one final shot at a ring. I'd have also liked to have seen him have a farewell tour with the Raptors, though it would've been bittersweet coming a year too late to be a part of their first championship.

I think since he was already in Atlanta it was easiest to re-up for one more year there and stay put. Instead of uprooting his family and moving for 1 season essentially

That's true. And hey, if he also wants to be that veteran mentor on a young rebuilding team, more power to him.

I'd like to see him in the dunk contest one last time. I reckon he could actually still win it. Now that would be Half-Man, Half-Amazing!
