Talk about NBA 2K20 here.
Sun Jul 14, 2019 8:09 am
Hey guys, I wanted to kick this off as a place to discuss 2k20 with cluttering the screenshot section. I was gonna present you guys with some questions or discussion and would love to hear peoples responses.
1. Has anything been announced that separates 2k20 from 2k19? I may just be behind but there’s been no talk of major changes like the “Takeover” abilities in 2k19. Could this mean that they’re focusing solely on the feel of the game and fixing sliding, clipping, etc?
2. What is something that would make 2k20 a day 1 buy for you? This could be as realistic or as crazy as you can imagine. For example, if they completely smoothed our gameplay and had every rostered player with a cyberface, I’d be all over It immediately.
Just wanted to get the ball rolling on discussion and hear others thoughts. Hopefully, this cleans up screenshots sections so more general discussion can be done here.

Hi,
1. Like every year 2K wasnt show big thing atm. They said to the community "We hear you" or "We read you" anything like this, so we will see then. The only major addon is the WNBA and womens players, so need to wait more.
2. Probably because its cant be worst than 2K19 ? Idk, ive got friends who got buying and playing the game at ther day 1 or days after, so for this and for the MyGm modes (hope they add somethings). I want to see new things, not the same game while one year.
When 2K show us gameplay and real news (more than overall and screenshots) everything will be clear.

We're still very early on in the preview season, so you haven't missed anything as far as feature announcements or detailed information about gameplay improvements. We might hear something by the end of the month, but based on previous years, mid-August wouldn't be unrealistic either.

That’s totally fair enough. I didn’t know if someone had gleaned something from the leaked gameplay.

Bits and pieces. It looks like they might be dusting off some MyCAREER concepts from NBA 2K17, but there's not much in the way of detailed, concrete info yet. Lots of YouTube videos speculating and claiming to have exclusive info. As I said in a recent Monday Tip-Off though, beware of clickbait!

That much has been evident from the First Look screenshots. It looks better to me.

Maybe a little. Definitely looks less painted-on.

The Park right now is holding a Formula One Racing event where half the park is occupied by a 3v3 matchmaking tent... why does this not exist all the time? Granted the court they put you on is pretty ugly and it follows the modern trope of both teams wearing away colors, but it's still cool nonetheless. There's even a racing track with cars driving around as you play.
As usual, what day in the park would be complete without one of your teammates quitting out, causing the other to spam call for pass and ballhog, because everything goes out the window as soon as one player leaves.

Hey guys, so I'm pretty much out of the loop with what you can and can't do in this game (on console) so I'd like to start a to do list for when the game is released free on Tuesday. What would you suggest those new to the game do first? I personally would like to update rosters. Is that something I have to do manually or can I download them from 2k or another user? Are there draft classes that can be downloaded as well?
Sun Jul 05, 2020 2:44 pm
There's an in-game sharing facility, so you'll be able to find a lot of updated rosters, retro rosters, and other such projects being shared on PC, PS4, and X1 alike. Same goes for Draft Classes. Unlike NBA Live 10 where you had to be friends with the person on PSN/XBL to share rosters, they're communal uploads that can be downloaded at any time (for as long as the servers remain active). A much better way of handling community content, as even though you can see who uploaded the roster or Draft Class, there's still some level of privacy on both sides because you don't have to send a friend request and connect with them to download it.

Is it too late to get into my team or does that not matter?
Is the career story worth playing?
Sun Jul 05, 2020 6:22 pm
I hope they update the arenas for the resumed season. With empty crowds and so on

I probably wouldn't play MyTEAM online, though I avoid doing that even having built up a team since launch. Through Locker Codes and some easy Challenges, you can snag a few good players for free, and then probably pick off some Pink Diamonds quite cheaply in the Auction House. It'd probably still be fun to play single player at this stage, but you'd definitely be overmatched online if you're just starting out now.
This year's story is OK, one of the better ones. It doesn't take long to level up to around 75 Overall in MyCAREER, by which point you can pretty much be a star in single player. Again, online play would take a bit of a grind. I'd recommend against making a 5'7" player, though.

game is $9 on Steam right now for anyone trying to get this
Mon Jul 06, 2020 12:45 pm
It'll also be one of the free games on PlayStation Plus this month.
Mon Jul 06, 2020 7:52 pm
It's never too late to get into MyTEAM as there's supposed to be matchmaking based on team overall. If you bought it now and just did the locker codes you should be able to have a solid team by the end of the year.
