It looks like an over-correction for online gameplay that's just not suitable for games against the CPU.

But then again, people want nerfs for players that are continuing to be able to hit shots. So at what point do you say their skill level is high enough to where it is unfair or should EA not make it as easy to get to that level? Not an easy task, so I don't envy them one bit. They're damned if they do, damned if they don't

Agreed, achieving the proper balance is a challenge. I do think that the jumpshot/contest system could stand to be better both online and offline.

We are currently testing an update that will bring better balance to shot contesting and fix some of the specific issues we have seen on this sub. This is NOT a rollback to the original tuning, this is an entirely new update.

• Defenders need more impact to remove greens
• Defenders need to be closer to shooters to impact shots
• Defenders need to be closer to the front of the shooter to impact shots
• Defenders need to be in better position at the start of the shot to get more impact

Also, we'll be tuning down the Statement Dunker Trait. You guys can't be trusted with that kind of power.

The developers are also answering questions in that Reddit thread today.

Sounds like the update is coming within a week or so. Good news, hopefully it pans out a little better than the last fix.

Into July and they are still trying to get the game right? Sheesh.

I'd prefer they continue to listen to community feedback and try out these tweaks ahead of NBA Live 20. Better that than ignoring the problems completely and saying it'll be fixed in the next game. The latest gameplay update improved shooting a little, but contested shots are still not as effective as they should be.

It's leading to a lot of speculation about NBA Live 20. In that respect, it's worth noting that both NBA Live 14 and NBA Live 16 received small roster updates for the next season as well.
