Yes. I live in Toronto, ON and I have been calling a lot of my local EB Games stores and they're telling me the PS2 release is still Oct. 6th, and that the XBOX release is on the 29th. I've been calling all weekend so I'm just going to call on the 29th and see which console releases they actually got in. If they didn't receive the PS2 releases, I'll just wait till Oct. 6th, which definitely sucks :x .

Yah i hope they release it on the 28th or 29th looking at the damn dunk contest video is torturing me enough to get my hands on that mode. :D

Andrew wrote:Not true. The rosters for the PC and N64 versions of NBA Live 2000 were quite different (the former's being more up to date), the PC version of NBA Live 2003 included Yao Ming and some more up to date transactions, while the PC version of NBA Live 2004 included some more free agents, did not include a couple of the free agents that were in the PS2 version and had a couple more transactions. The cutoff date for the PC version is generally a little later than the date for the console versions.

I stand corrected. But I do remember the one year that live came out several months late (2001?) and everyone thought that there would be updated rosters, but the rosters were from the end of Oct. or sometime around there. Plus, the added players in the rosters you mentioned were pretty much all created players, weren't they? So it's unlikely that players that may get added to the pc version will have their real faces or other characteristics, if anyone is hoping for that.

As far as the release date goes, it'll be out when it's out. The release dates constantly change, as they have in the past, so I wouldn't put too much stock in any of them, except the console versions, 'cause that's where the money is. Probably the only way to know for sure is to preorder the game and wait for an email shipping confirmation.

Some had generic faces, but not all of them - Yao had his real face as did the returning veterans in the free agent pool. But you're right about NBA Live 2001 - it was delayed until January but the rosters were accurate as of about November 15th, if I recall correctly.

Here we go again

Guess what, guys?

EBGAMES.com says that the PC version of live 2005 will be out by Oct. 12 now... man, what an emotional rollercoaster ride, huh? I bet tomorrow they'll say they release it in Feb 2005. Come on, EA - just be straight up with us. And for goodness sake, if it takes time to build a good PC version, then just do it

Mon Sep 27, 2004 5:29 pm

Us aussies paying $100 is like you paying $71.

Mon Sep 27, 2004 5:30 pm

That's for you guys on page 1.

So what's the confirmed date? Oct. 27th, or Oct. 12th. Could you find out for us, Andrew?

Tue Sep 28, 2004 1:44 am

Tue Sep 28, 2004 10:04 am

well ebgames told me that they are gonna get it on Oct 6 even on Xbox
i hate them now

Tue Sep 28, 2004 10:32 am

Could you find out for us, Andrew?

Just did. ;)

It isn't set in stone, but the PC release date is most likely going to be around the end of October - the 27th and the 28th are the two dates that are being mentioned.

Tue Sep 28, 2004 11:16 am

And all the stores are not going to be getting it on the 29th are they?
Because some have said still on Oct. 5, or have they just not found out about the earlier release date?

Correct, some stores probably won't have it on the shelf for a day or two.

If you're from Australia or NZ, GamesMarket.com.au is the place to go. The last time I looked it was for $55.95 Aussie dollars.

Release date for Live 2005 on that site is October 22, 2004. Sounds like a reasonable date, but I bet 1-2 weeks will be added on top of that.

If you pre-order, shipping within Australia is FREE (love that word). Not sure about shipping to NZ though, might cost you an additional 5 bucks or something.

At the moment, $1-US is at $1.41-AUS.

So with that AUS price of $55.95, it'd be about $40 US, give or take.

Hope that helps.

You guys probably knew this already (might have been posted earlier in this thread, whatever, I couldn't be bothered reading the whole thing), but the XBOX version WILL come sooner than other platforms.

XBOX games traditionally come in before PS2 and PC. Just like Madden 2005.

Anyway, the PS2 version is expected to come in 1-2 weeks after the XBOX release with the PC version soon to follow. That's as much as I know...

Thu Sep 30, 2004 2:21 am

i thought they released it already

Thu Sep 30, 2004 4:41 am

Well....sucky, conflicting information in my area PC-CD via best buy doesn't come out until Oct 5 ...Game Stop across the street states Oct 26th...well, I guess I have to wait...while all you enjoy.

Fri Oct 01, 2004 2:19 am

this comes out around october here in the Philippines :(

Fri Oct 01, 2004 12:48 pm

so is it confirmed that the pc cd will come out on the 27th?

I really hope it comes sooner.

Fri Oct 01, 2004 11:07 pm

EA and confirming release dates that would be a shocking 1st but yeah looking at all the inside info ppl are getting and the game retailers it will be out end of october at the earliest but dont be shocked if it ends up mid-end november rofl

Just saw on EA Taiwan, the Chinese edition of NBA Live 2005 for PC will be released on Oct 9th.

I just asked a Taiwanese friend to send me a copy by post, I will post some PC screenshots when I get it. :P

Mon Oct 04, 2004 9:51 am

For Australian PC gamers.

Gamesmarket.com.au just changed their PC release date from Oct 22 to Oct 27th.

I hope it really does come that soon.
