2019 Playoffs: (2) Denver vs. (7) San Antonio

Probably the sexiest pick for an upset in the first round. The veteran Spurs take on a Nuggets team returning to the playoffs after a five year absence. Denver seems vulnerable - Jokic could struggle in the playoffs, they've struggled against elite teams, they're up against Popovich, etc.

But while I would have chosen the Jazz or Thunder to upset them, I actually think the Nuggets got this. The Spurs don't really have a guy to stop Jokic, and DeMar has never been a major factor come playoff time. With the way things have shaken out with the playoff bracket, Denver is arguably favored to make it to the WCF. This is the first step. Nuggets in 6.

I was looking at the matchups on my phone at work this morning and thought "Oh, cool; Duncan and the Spurs are visiting Anthony & the Nuggs"... am I the only one who gets stuck in certain eras? It's kinda sad really.

Now that I finally woke up from my coma, this is kinda a boring series that will probably turn out super exciting and competitive for both fanbases. I voted for Perko, but an upset could up for order and it'll be closely decided.

Anyway, I have the benefit of being late on this, so if the Nuggets don't get it done in 6, I think the Spurs will win it in 7. Spurs have the benefit of having one of the greatest coaches of all time, which I think would matter a lot if this series gets to a 7th game.

Those final 25 seconds or so were bizarre. I know it was already a two possession game and victory was a long shot, but it seemed like the Spurs didn't even want to try to win. Hats off to Murray for the big shot, though.
