Talk about NBA Live 19 here.
Tue Feb 12, 2019 12:07 am
This is why I keep telling ppl on Twitter who tell me it's pointless to ask for things because they don't listen really isn't true I've being very vocal about Trier, Boban and the city courts for a while now and there finally there, because we as community have kept respectfully asking for these things like we did with roster editing the year before and now in game injuries.
Never give up is not something I've been able to say for a while but it's true
Tue Feb 12, 2019 10:48 am
It's not like it takes a lot of effort to mention these things, either. It never hurts to offer up constructive feedback.

Not sure if it means anything but Wade is showing up as a quick menu sub option for the all star team, but you can't actually sub him in and he's not on the bench. Perhaps they are preparing for an update to allow 13 active players?
Wed Feb 13, 2019 1:42 pm
That'd be another overdue addition, so here's hoping.
Thu Feb 14, 2019 1:18 am
Fingers crossed

There's a new patch out (1.20), as well as a content update. No notes as yet, so for the moment I'm just running with the generic placeholder info from PS4 (Minor bug fixes).

Any idea when they will add some real music to the playlist?
Also, do they have any intention of adding long hair for a white person? I don't mean the ones in a bun. Just long hair that hangs down. Odd they don't have that included.
Thu Feb 21, 2019 7:20 pm
Silly question but are you allowed to play with hair that is hanging loose?
Thu Feb 21, 2019 9:56 pm
Depending on the length, it may have to be tied back in some way. If nothing else, most players would probably do it of their own accord so it doesn't get in the way.

I always played with it hanging down. That's what headbands are for, if you need one. But even hair just long enough to cover the back of the neck, which isn't all that long, would be nice, and it isn't as goofy as some of the hair styles that are in the game.
Something like this....

More hairstyles would be welcome, both long and short.

As per
Reddit, a new patch is coming in early June. It's apparently a big gameplay patch, addressing a lot of requests. A brief preview is as follows:
- Shot contest impact
- Open layups and inside shots missing
- Better balancing of dribble bumps and dribbling
- A new feature to combat ball hogs online (YESSS!!!)
- Some other stuff
More information as it becomes available.

New patch is out!
NBA Live 19 Patch 1.25Release DatesPlayStation 4: June 3rd, 2019
Xbox One: June 3rd, 2019
Patch NotesPro-Am UpdatesVenue + Uniform updates: Quai 54
Bug FixMemory corruption fix for players with 5 CAPs.
Gameplay TuningBased off community feedback:
- Upped defensive impact to shots
- Good defensive positioning will be rewarded by affecting jump shots more.
- Introducing a ball hog penalty
- If a user “hogs” the ball for an excessive period, shots will be penalized. A major shot penalty will kick in if the user continues to ball hog.
- This is only for user player jump shots in Live Run.
- Bigger players will play contact shots against smaller players less often.
- This will result in more clean looks and makes for bigger players (when going up against smaller players)
- More impact for lower-rated players on contact layups.
- This results in lower-rated players missing more layups with contact
- Increased chances to make cleaner layups and shots around the rim
- Fewer clean layups missed from light contests
- Improved ball handling vs. collisions
- Higher-rated ball handlers will only pick up the ball from too many collisions or being super low on short-term stamina.
Further notes on roster updates can be found
here.

These gameplay changes are significant, and they interestingly finally made a stand against ballhogs who Redditors have long been complaining about. Unfortunately, my take on it is that ballhogs will be ballhogs and it won't deter them from continuing to do so.
Tue Jun 04, 2019 3:35 pm
I guess it depends if they're OK with losing. If the shot penalty is significant enough, it might be incentive enough to pass more often.
Wed Jun 05, 2019 1:16 am
I might fire up the game soon to see how it plays with all the changes
Sat Jun 08, 2019 9:06 pm
Having played a few games with the patch, I'm pretty disappointed. Jumpshots against the CPU are completely broken thanks to the new shot contest system; the CPU will nail jumpers in your face all day, but even the best shooters can't knock down contested shots in your hands, even when you turn the difficulty down. Still no interior defense, and very little that resembles actual NBA basketball. Honestly, I'm finding the game unplayable now.
Sun Jun 09, 2019 1:50 am
That's a shame, as that's pretty much what they did halfway through the season for Live 18
