I think i'm pretty similar to -|NN|-[pF]-.
I play in an organised league... but it's not taken very seriously, it's pretty much just for fun.
I'm somewhere over 5'11", maybe 6 foot, and 150 lbs. I'd look at myself as a point/forward. Sometimes i'll get down low in the post, sometimes i'll play on the wing and sometimes I'll take the ball down the court and set up the plays. I'm a team minded player. I like to think i'm the one that puts the hard work and hustle to get my team to win. I don't have any outstanding strengths... or major weaknesses... i'm an all-round average player. Nothin' special, not shit. I just play.
Strengths:
Defense. I get about 1 or 2 blocks per game despite not being hugely tall. I'm not an athletic freak and i'm not tall so i dont know why i get blocks so consistantly every game. I just know what to do.
I feel very comfortable on the the defensive end. I know how to guard in the post, and how to gaurd driving. But my stature allows freak boys to dominate me if i'm matched up with a guy too big in the post. If i'm feeling it, and i get in a state of mind like "I am not letting this guy score" then he wont score, and the other team usually gets intimidated and loses or they get intimidated individually and pass the ball when matched up against me.
Court-vision. My coach has always said i have good vision, and love making a succesful assist rather than scoring.
Shooting. Recently i've improved my jump-shot and consider myself respectable from mid-range.
Rebounding. This is kind of a strength/weakness. A strength because i have a decent leap and can grab balls out of the air well. A weakness because sometimes i tend to shy in contact if i'm matched up against a beastly man-child.
Weaknesses:
Consistancy. I'm very inconsistant. Mainly because some games i have a hangover and some games i don't. But i know that even before i play whether i'm "feeling it" or not. Some nights i'll explode for a huge offensive night, always calling for the ball and finishing, hustling, playing pressure D. Then the next week i'll feel like shit and play like shit.
Strength. Wish i was stronger. Too lazy to work out.
That'll do.

Strengths: dribbling, driving to the hoop, defense

strenghths: ballhandling, passing, court vision, hustle, layups, trash talking
weaknesses: shooting (my % is pretty decent but my range is a bit limited), rebounding, alotta turnovers, sometimes im tryin too much (which pisses off my teammates sometimes), blocking (lol...at my hight its not that easy)
Sat Sep 25, 2004 5:51 am
Strenghts: Good inside scorer, quite good offensive rebounder, good hookshots, good passer, good shooter within the 3points line,
Weaknesses: Get tired faster then can you say "timeout", (However I have probably improved a lot on that point because of my military service, haven't played any ball since I started) tends to be to lazy to defense properly, sometimes loses my patience to easily, worseless 3point shooting.

you're 4 inches taller than me... and only.... 1 pound heavier.... ??
does that mean i'm fat/overweight?
oh yeah, i can run... that's it..... my dribbling is crap too

i can't shoot 3's.... maybe 1 in 10 so i don't take my chances.... and pffttt i'm 5'5.... most of my friends are taller than me when we play... so... yeah...
No buddy, that means your in decent/good shape, as i am a skorny little fucker. Im seriously really skinny, dont worry, ur fine.

I forgot to mention rebounding and injuries.
Anyways, I don't grab many defensive boards but on offense I always run to the basket after a shot goes up and I manage to get a lot of offensive rebounds.
I get most of my injuries playing soccer but my most recent basketball related injury was when I landed hard on may back. I got past a guy and went for the layup but when I went up he pushed me from behind and one of their biggers guys also made contact with me and I landed pretty hard on my back. I didn't miss any games but when it did happend it hurt like a bitch.
Height. At 6'4 I'm too short to play PF and SF
I'm 6'1" and I play SF all the time, and I am only 157 pounds, Shyne weighs more than me and he plays point gaurd and I play SF/PF. Man, I just must play for a messed up team if guys are 3 inches taller than me and say they are too small to play PF

ankle injuries suck
i agree..theyre the biggest bitch in the world...worse than any other kind of bball injury in my opinion. messes up your game so much because youre always trying to protect when you drive

Weaknesses:
Basketball!
Strengths: Baseball: Switch hitter, decent eye, accurate throwing arm with power, lacks patience at the plate, slides are awful, decent glove.

I'm like Rodman with more blocking ability. Get rebounds, block, anticipation on D, hustle, everything like that. I'm like 5'9-10 and get like 3 or 4 blocks a game. Defense is my specialty. When I feel like I can stop anybody, it always happens. Everybody tells me that my defense is the best in the whole school

.
But my offense is worst than a 10 year-old

. No jump-shot whatsoever. I get too nervous when the ball is in my hands

. Got decent dribbling skills but I never use it

I played 7th, 8th Grade B-Ball, dropped 6 3-Pointers in a good (playoffs) game once... (we lost) played in junior high from 2000-2002; continued play in 2003, where I played for a Park District team where I wasn't as good as in Grade School. In grade school I averaged around 10ppg. and 5 apg. Park District I averaged around 5ppg in just a few games...(players were quite selfish). Just so y'all know, I'm 5'8" 130 lbs and I was a SG. I might go back to playing P.D. ball in a couple months...so...my main point = good shooter...everything else pretty much I suck at.

my biggest fear is pretty much rolling my ankle when i plant my foot hard preparing for a cut or landing on someones foot when goin for a rebound, or comin back down from a jumpshot

Ive had 3 ankle injuries when landing on someone elses foot. They aren't that bad. You can play through the pain and do it effectively. Knee injuries are a bitch, especially when you have a swollen knee. Cant run or jump on that
I'm 5'8, 140lbs and a SG
Strengths:
Jump Shot- open or not i can make the jump shot. Biggest strength is a mid range baseline or a shot from the elbow Brian Grant style. My 3 pointers are pretty good as well
Defense- I can play some pretty good defense, on my best days i can TOTALLY shut down 4's and 5's from the post by simply denying the ball. My footwork is also pretty good for on the ball and i'd say my transition defence is pretty good from which i get quite a bit of blocks.
Athleticism- for my height i can get up there, if i want the ball on a rebound i usually get it and I'm a pretty good weakside shot blocker
Unselfish- I consider myself a player that can play on ANY team. I don't need the ball to be successful. I'm just as happy making an assist as a jump shot. I'm a Pass first Shoot second player and i like to keep everyone involved
Weaknesses
Dribbling- I've never really put much practice into dribbling. In Poland we played a team game that required ball movement, all you needed to do is get the ball past halfcourt, but when I came to Australia it was different so my dribbling isn't that good. I can still do the crossovers but my left hand isn't as good as I'd like it to be
Effort- I never give 100% effort, I only do so in 1-on-1 games and when I do that I'm pretty hard to beat. I blame zone defence, you just stand around move from one side to the other
Driving- I never take it to the hoop enough, I don't know why? Perhaps if my dribbling was better I'd be more inclined to do so. Whenever I do drive though I can create stuff
