Oh this project is happening! I've dreamed for a long time about having an early 90s season mod with the features 2k has today and a decent playable game. Mickachiste did one for 2k18. We have partnered on this one and have a good system down now to allow for faster conversion of roster. I was going too slow solo. Obviously with the permission of others, we will use and add missing players cyberfaces as they came out. Speaking of....

1) We need Reggie Miller. Anyone able to help here? There are some others that would eventually be great to have, but he is the key missing one now that someone (blanking on name, sorry) did Barkley and Dee4Three polished him.

2) Has anyone done a contract converter to modern day salary? I know how, just feeling a little lazy, but spending time on the roster is more important. However, I'd like this to be fairly accurate when completed.

I'm sure there is someone out there willing to have a crack at Reggie, as for the contract stuff I have no idea.

One thing Stildo, do you need someone to edit tedious things in Cheat Engine for you? Things like accessory/sock/shoe colours etc. If you want I can do that so the colours match my jerseys. I'm sure you could also get rid of the Grizzlies/Raptors and Pelicans as well by hiding them, although I'm not sure if that makes MyLeague unplayable or not. Up to you but if you want to do it I can give you a list of the hex colour codes that I use.

Hey PeacemanNOT,

Thanks for offering. :) Hahah!

Yes, I will need help with that. I don't want to run into unplayable problems for Myleague 2 seasons in. For example, I've already run into that issue and haven't done anything in CE. I am not sure if Mickachiste has yet or not. Waiting to hear back.

I WANT TO MAKE SURE WE HAVE ATTRIBUTES, TENDENCIES, BIO, ETC. first....before we start adding in the jerseys etc. If we have a nice shell to work from, then the possibilities really open up. :)

Anyway....all the teams are mostly a mess now anyway with only 3 teams actually done. After 2 seasons, I was crashing in myleague at the qualifying offers section. Not sure what the issue was/is. So, I exported player DNA from a completed team, imported them, no issues after 3 season on a fresh roster. I will add the other 3 teams tomorrow and keep testing.

My guess is it has something to do with players not having contracts or something (or an option clicked on contracts that shouldn't be).

If anyone has any thoughts or suggestions please let me know!

Really excited to play this when it's finished.

You will need a lot of cyberfaces, but the project will be worth it in the end.

Um, yeaaaah. Cyberfaces are going to be a challenge for sure. Just trying to get some best-look-a-like guys for less significant players for now. I cant Make them. If someone is black, had a gotee I’m just trying to at least get that to be accurate, without using a modern day player converted in tattoos.

I’d love suggestions on any other ways to do this, but plan is to just use existing/hidden CFs for now. I know that isn’t ideal, but not sure what next best option is.

The other thing I want you to think about.

I'd recommend overwriting the now teams with the 92 teams (like we did on 2K10 rosters. Having them spread out over the default classic teams is a mess. You should release the roster with the classic teams/all time teams intact.

Also, this would give you the option to release the roster with JUST the 91-92 season teams there, removing the classic teams and all time teams. The roster would be extremely clean and easy to navigate.

You will have an issue with getting the rosters to 14 players (because the requirements were different back than in real life, and some teams may not have had 14 players.

Yeah treat it like it's an official roster, no need to keep all time teams/classic teams there.

As far as cyberfaces go I doubt much will be done, only the important players. Just use look a likes for everyone else, it can always be touched upon later.

Good tips. My plan is to replace existing teams (2018-2019). This will also keep intact all-time teams and classic teams.

This way when you start a myleague you immediately start. We are also adjusting tendencies to be more like the late 80s and 90s (less run and gun, more post up).

As for the player minimum. I will put in guys that played a game, even if insignificant, just to get to the required amount of players. Will make contracts one year long for those guys. For teams that didn't have that, I will just add 45 year old guys that suck and retire after season so they are out of the league too (and make them injured).

For Raptors, New Orleans, and Grizzlies - I will make them a bunch of no-name generics, but a little better than the ones 2k provides. Will make them more "sim-games", but I don't want them to suck so bad they automatically get 1-3rd picks every year....unless everyone thinks this is the way to do it (IE - you manually control those teams, draft for them and take 2nd round picks from the beginning, etc).

For the Raptors and Grizzlies, I will just make everyone on a 3-year contract so they are ready for the 1995-1996 season.

Keep the tips coming.

Anyone have any luck with euro-stash contracts or able to explain how the work? Want to be able to get Kukoc on Bulls and Sabonis on Blazers after appropriate years

Re: 1992 SEASON MOD - UPDATE ON PROGRESS

Postby Stildo33 on Fri Sep 28, 2018 12:14 pm

Hey guys!

Quick update on where we are. Sorry, slammed with RL stuff so moving a little slower than I had hoped, but moving forward.

Teams that are done as far as correct tendencies, attributes, bio, most cyberfaces and/or decent look-a-like available:

76ers, Bucks, Bulls, Celtics, Cavs, Clippers, Hawks, Hornets Jazz, Spurs, Blazers. Hoping to finish all of this phase 1 by Oct 15th. I need to make some corrections to several players on most of those teams, but I will do that will my phase 2 roll-out (if at all). There are a handful of players that will have inaccurate draft data (like 2013 for example). I realized my mess up on this, so going forward, I don't think this will be a concern. I just may need to correct some guys on the teams mentioned teams to-date. I realize some people will never notice this and others won't play with it just because of this. sorry and thats why I will most likely update it.

One thing we may need help on is signatures - jump shot at the very least.

If I made a google doc of all the players, would someone mind filling in the blanks?

Anyone?

I will help you with some of the signatures.

Use Jump Shot 55 and Release 30 for Reggie Miller btw.

I am attempting to do a 79-80 season. dont like the fact that I have to start with 30 teams when in 79 there were only 22.

Same here. I have still barely played any games themselves for 2k19. I've been modding the entire time haha. I've been wanting to re-live the 90s for years, so trying to not half-ass it this time haha.

Postby JEDL on Mon Oct 08, 2018 5:17 pm

Just a question guys, are draft classes a part of the plan once the roster is complete? I'm not entirely sure about having people upload separate years individually (ex. one guy uploads 1992-1997 and the next guy uploads 1997-2002 and etc.) if coordinating that is possible or if you guys have enough people willing to use up their 5 upload limit.

And as for the contracts, I'd be sorta willing to convert them if no one else is doing them (I did this on all players on my 2010-11 roster last year and implementing them individually was a pain in the ass).

Re: 1992 SEASON MOD - 10-7-18 UPDATE (in original post)

Postby Stildo33 on Mon Oct 08, 2018 11:38 pm

Hey Jedl!

I haven't thought that far ahead, but yes, probably in some form. I will went to crank out a 1992 fairly quickly as that is one of the best classes ever. We haven't talked about doing it, as we are focused on this project. However, would love to have some help on it!

I know I will be trying to do a 1992 draft fairly soon after roster done. I will likely take a break for a week first, I haven't even played this game much yet.

Any volunteers for help on draft project, please PM me.

How have you done contracts before? I am not going to put 50 hours into contract research for now. I was planning to basically make everyone at or over the cap. I was thinking

The CAP back then was $12,500,000. Today's its $101,900,000. My initial thought was to just convert that into "today's video game dollars". Obviously, $12,500,000 isn't worth 100 million today - the cap has just increased a ton!

So, my thought was to just use percentages of the cap with some "best guess" work. For example, Pippen and Jordan made up 48% of the CAP back in 1992. Jordan would be eligible for a Supermax contract back in 1992. Pippen would not. So I was just going to make most superstars paid what they should be paid and work my way down. I will probably simulate a season to see what the computer signs everyone for (and how the programming handles this).

Couple of questions:

How would people prefer I do contracts?

1) I was going to make it so the main guys are signed long-term with their existing team or can at least be re-signed (4 year contract is previous contract). My goal with this is to "keep teams intact" as there weren't THAT many free agents in summer of 1992.
2) I can release a 2nd version of this that just has 1-year contracts on everyone and it becomes the wild-wild west after 1 season.
3) any other suggestions?
