Jimmy Butler requests trade

It was inevitable. He has issues with KAT who is also up for an extension and he is becoming a free agent next summer. Problem is, like Kawhi, the teams he wants to go to have cap space to sign him in the summer so trading for him makes no sense

It seems that much like Kawhi, he's proving to be more difficult and selfish than originally thought. I know I've criticised GarPax for trading him away - mostly because it felt like they overpaid to do so, and greedily, it would've been nice if they could've kept their pick in addition to the one they got for him - but the more time passes, the more it appears to have been the right move, at least in terms of moving on from him.

Butler is coming off as a total douche. There seemed to be issues with Rose during the Bulls time, then the Wade/Butler vs Rondo and the young ones and now this...doesn't really paint a favorable picture.

Thibs wanting to sign Deng to the Wolves also isn't really a good move. He's not doing too well with that team.

If he ended up in NY it would be cool, it's been such a long time since that team has been relevant. He'd be back east, KP over there and Kyrie could follow.

Off season is the best time of season with the Warriors basically Thanos'ing the playoffs.

As for the situation with Butler, it sounds like it's going to be a messy split, and someone could indeed be getting him at a bargain price. Of course, while they might be getting a bargain in terms of his talents, it seems they're getting a whole lot of baggage as well, and that could be costly.

Deadline set by Taylor is Tuesday. Apparently the Heat are in the mix which is a good move to try to keep him long term since he is friends with Wade. Otherwise, most teams should be wary of a one year rental

It's a farewell tour for Wade, though. Perhaps Wade can convince him to stick around, but he wouldn't be playing with Butler beyond this season.

Jimmy Butler and his agent have informed the Minnesota Timberwolves he prefers a trade to the Miami Heat.

Butler initially had the Los Angeles Clippers, New York Knicks and Brooklyn Nets on his wish list.

Miami would be a great landing spot for Butler... if Wade and his farewell tour isn't there.
