Blasphemy. But I bet Nick Wright will sing its praises as being ten times better than the original, even when LeBron joins the Monstars. Or indeed, because he joins the Monstars.
In all seriousness, I don't know how it's going to pan out. I enjoyed Space Jam back in the day, but it's a product of its time. Some ideas you just have to leave alone.

It doesn't matter whether the sequel is good or not for those that saw Space Jam since this new one is mostly aimed at the kids like the first one was but then again I wonder if kids today even know about the Looney Tunes.

I'm guessing so. The original shorts still tend to get repeated (most of them were decades old when I was a kid) and there has been a couple of re-boots and re-tools since then. Like Disney's flagship characters, I assume they have some amount of enduring popularity.
