But we changed it back this year so that when you're playing with player lock your teammates will shoot if they're open.

Boo-yah! Something that 04 was really missing. Every little tid-bit like this makes me want 05 all the more.

How far off do you think having a full on 5 on 5 match with 10 individual players is based on the current technology and the plans for the next generation of Xbox gaming?

Tim Tschirner: The technology to do this is basically ready now, but I'm not sure if the consumers are ready for this yet, especially in a fast-paced game like basketball. In order to successfully play with 10 individual players everyone needs to know and follow quite a few things. Players to know their position on the floor, who to guard, which offensive to run, etc. We did some tests on this a while back and it was quite a challenge even for skilled players to get this right. I think in order for this to work successfully, especially with other players that you might not know all that well, a couple of other pieces like better ways of communicating between players need to be added to the mix.

The day that this feature is added into NBA Live I think I may become an insomniac. Like how other games have tribes and clans and stuff, Live could have leagues where you have to sign up with a team.

Well I don't know if this has been said before, but this is the first time I saw where they asked a question about Create-A-Player. And it said their are millions of facial combinations, this is gonna be awesome, finally being able to create a free agent who is not in the game and he looks different than everybody else.

I'll be happy if the create-a-player is half as good as it sounds. Because a lot of the stuff Tim said you could do in create-a-player you could already do in '04. Like the nose size...

I mentioned it in another thread before, but he said their are sliders for the face, nose, mouth, ears etc, so that will allow you to fully customize your player :)

Yeah, I'm real excited about the create-a-player feature this year. It might be trivial to some but I'm soooo glad I'll finally be able to edit some headbands. There was nothing worse than using my Lakers, trading for Paul Pierce and him being stuck with that green headband! YUCK. I'm sorry call me picky but I like my players to match.

Wait a sec. Has it been confirmed that you can edit headbands or existing players? I read that you can have more options for multi color headbands but it was talking about create-a-player. I think the "Pierce stuck with green" syndrome still might be with us.

Yep, we'll most defintely be able to edit "real" player's headbands. Minnesota Baller said when he played the game at the EA summit he actually was able to give KG a headband and change the color also. When I asked if this year we could change headband colors existing on players like Paul Pierce, he answered most definitely. YES!

That could be a nice feature, I also though of it some years ago. But indeed, 10 players on the ground for one ball couldn't be enough for a video game, ie you could stay without the ball for a lot of minutes, especially if you play with noobs that don't share the ball. That may be quickly very boring indeed

anybody notice this?
We've seen player lock functions in other sports titles like the NHL series where you can choose to play the entire game at a specific position. Will we see this in NBA Live 2005?

thqt has to be the dumbest question. I know the interviewer may not be an avid Live fan, but damn, you gotta know what you're talking about... I remember playing player lock on Live 98!
