Thanks for the update! Glad people haven't completely abandoned this game for 2k18. I agree, you should make the classic TNT as well.

Amazing work, thanks a lot! Only thing is that TNT notifications sometimes overlap or are overlapped by the ugly 2K notifications. Anyone knows how to disable the 2K ones? Oh and both the original one and this one get messed up at half time, don't know if it's possible to fix it. thanks, keep it up!

edit: didn't mean to come off snarky, lol it seems the watermark moves around based on both aspect ratio and display resolution. my native resolution is 1440x900 (16:10 Aspect ration) but even other resolutions within the same aspect ration seem to move the watermark randomly. as such, it'd be best if y'all moved it to where you wanted to.

to move it down, there are 4 y-axis float values.
00 08 e8 44
00 08 e8 44
00 f8 f2 44

just subract 100 from each float value... so all values are down 100. or whatever number you choose. just keep them all even going down/up. i had to move it something ridiculoous like plus 800 to move it up, so it might be a large number. if moving left/right.... just add the same value (100, 300, whatever) to the 4 x-axis float values.

y'all gonna have to adjust the watermark to fit your screen/resolution.
open file in hex. best to use hex editor neo free to change collum value and see float. Float is under the data inspector tab/window... dont remember how i got that open in the view settings, perhaps. then use the float value to change the y-axis and x-axis

Great info! Thanks a lot man! I'm making my own TNT watermark, the new one that shows up sometimes on the top left corner. Do you know what values are the one for size and opacity? Thanks again!

I attached my watermark in case anyone wants it. The position is adjusted according to my settings, and the transparency and size are the same as the 1.5 watermark bongo posted cause I don't know how to change the size, if anyone can help it would be appreciated. Thanks!

tnt 2010 unfinished for 2k17

Well, i worked on this for an evening a while ago. Porting my 2k18 texture to work for 2k17. I doubt i'll finish it due to my lack of interest. Been just sitting in my game folder untouched for a while. I am probably gonna delete it soon from my hard drive, so just posting it in here in case somebody wants to open it up in blender and finish it.

Unfortunately, 2k18/9 NewScorebug.VCUIELEMENT crashes the game

Pages 3, 4, 5 of my 2k18 scoreboard thread has the information

You have to open up the 2k17 Newscorebug.VCUIELEMENT and find the header for the text display. in 2k18 it was hex : hex 81020200 00000000 d1e69e42 The Text header might be the same in 2k17 or it might be different. not sure.

this hex header is the text display and then the next 4 bytes are what is being displayed. Then you have to open up other vcuielement .... like titlecard2 or startinglineupoverlay and search for hex 81020200 00000000 d1e69e42 .... then move the pointer over to the 2k17 newscorebug.VCUIELEMENT.


anyways, just check out page 4. Ksmiz can probably give you more enlightenment. I fiddled with it just a little. But you plug in the hex from other vcuielement (startinglineupoverlay) into the 2k17 scorebug vcuielement. just a lot of trial and error and reloading the game with "restart" to see if the scoreboard changed. check out page 3/4/5.


edit: actually, the 2k17 text header might be the same..... search the vcuielement for hex 81020200 00000000 d1e69e42

in the newscorebug.VCUIELEMENT there are many places of hex 81020200 00000000 d1e69e42 they all point to a different UI element. You have to test them all until you find tricode home/tricode away



when you find tricode home/away.... then you have to search all hex 81020200 00000000 d1e69e42 in the startinglineupoverlay.VCUIELEMENT and then copy the blue box hex (follows right after hex 81020200 00000000 d1e69e42) to the scorebug tricode home/away location.

Lots of trial and error. pages 3,4,5 have more info. but gotta copy the blue from startinglineup to scorebug element.

i just realized that ksmiz post on page 3 was using the 2k17 vcuielement


that is the location of the home/away tricode for 2k17 vcuielement. Now you have to search startinglineupoverlay and titlecard2.iff vcuielement for hex hex 81020200 00000000 d1e69e42 then copy the blue box hex (top image) to the 2k17 scorebug vcuielement that ksmiz has in his image. gotta test every single blue box from staringlineupoverlay and titlecard2 and put it in the 2k17 scorebug. then do a quick restart of game to see what the hex pointer displays on screen.

lots of trial and error. gotta test them all. but the ksmiz image should be the location of home/away tricode location.

okay, so good new, with your great explanations i've succeed to replace tricode by team names (from staringlineupoverlay).
Bad new, i cant find cities only (i've found city+team name inside titlecard2 vcuielement )

Sticky, at 3:34 in the 86-87 Trailblazers video I posted, you will see what I am talking about with the foul notifications. That same thing applies to the state notifications, they both show up on the far right

we fixed it by editing the scorebug_opt.scn file in notepad..... bottom of page 4 of the thread.

Nah, you now understand the tedious nature of making scoreboards. You deserve the credit

Tell you how my sunday afternoon went.... was hoping to finish up my 2k18 updated tnt scoreboard this afternoon. It's been sitting on my desktop since feb. If i had a nice oled monitor, the TNT Updated backup folder would have a nice permanent burn-in on the right side of the screen.

Anyways, started with this setup after lunch at around 1pm


ended up with this at dinner time at 5pm


yup, 4 hours with blender, SCN, and hex tricks... and only adjusted the timeouts and foul box. Still gotta fix lots more before releasing it for 2k18.

So, ya. You know the tediousness of the scoreboard-making process.... so you're name definitely belongs on the thread title

Anyways, thanks for fixing up the 2010 scoreboard for the 2k17 users. I don't work on scoreboards much anymore.

What i really hate in making scoreboards are notifications
