where is a good place to get my ps2 fixed?

well my ps2 has been screwed up even before summer began so i haven't touched live in 2-3 months.. anyways where can i get it fixed aside from shipping it to sony? (my warrantee isn't valid no more).. i asked electronics boutique if they could fix it and they totally ignored my question and told me they'd buy it off me for $75.00 and i literally told them to fuck off. so yeah any place would be nice.. preferably cheap, i'm running low on cash too  thanks :D

I'd rather have 1 PS2 with 4 controllers in that case.

As far as I know, the only option apart from buying a new one is to ship it off to Sony. They should be able to fix it, but since you're warranty's expired you'll have to pay a hefty sum - pretty much the same amount as buying a brand new PS2+ (which is better than the original PS2).

I'd buy an xbox since it looks better and has more features. (Y) Same price too. And you can by a controller adapter so you can use your ps2 controller on your xbox.

i could tell u how to fix it urself, if the problem with ur PS2 is disc read error

all u need is some rubbin alcohol, cotton swab toothpicks, and one of those keyboard cleaning thingys

ive fixed mine once, and like 4 other people's, made a good 40 bucks
also when u fix it, it shouldnt take longer than 10-15 min

Better solution. (Y) Glad to hear you got the problem fixed so cheaply...I believe Sony charges a couple of hundred bucks just to look at it. I'm sure a lot of people are out of pocket without actually getting the problem fixed.

yeah :), i wasn't even thinking about sending it to sony.. it would've cost me around a 100 bucks for them to look at it, plus shipping and handling is around 50 dollars.. which adds up to 150.. with that amount of money i could've saved time and bought a new ps2.

anyways the problem was the lenses.. a very common problem.. the guy that fixed my ps2 was surprised i even had that problem because it was clean and i took good care of it.. apparently sony has been making defective ps2's for a while without knowing it so at the moment they're fixing an enormous amount of ps2's just like mine.. i'm just glad i found someone to do the job for cheap (Y)
