Is it possible to replace the default roster?

I know how to "play now" with a custom roster (Y to select the roster), but I would like to use "NBA Today" to see/play the games for today (e.g. Oct 24, 2017). The correct games are listed in NBA Today, but the roster is the 2k default roster.
Is there any way to change/replace the default roster with a custom one so I can use NBA Today to play current games with an updated custom roster?
