holy crap! that isomation in the air(movie download #4)is incredible! And the post up game looks very, very improved. I have a feeling it's gonna be really close this year because both games are bringing their best game to the forefront! I think this year might be the first year where all the NBA basketball games for Xbox are gonna be off the hook! I can't wait. I bet though that either EA or Sega releases before the other so they can get it out first because everyone know's most people will get a game when it's the first game to come out for that year just because it's new even if they don't have much faith in it. I wonder who it will be? I can't wait guys, this is gonna be a tight race whether you'll admit it or not!

Wow, the postgame looks absolutely AMAZING! The animations and execution of them looks jaw dropping, straight up. To think that it will only be $20.00 is a dream come true, Visual Concepts has definitely put some work into their title this year....

As far as the tight race goes and "admitting it", will you cut it out? Why on earth do you think that people here are holding their tongues or are biased enough not to give Sega their due?

UH OH! Looks like this will end up being a tight race this year. It seems like ESPN just adds something that Live had on their game the previous year the next year. I'm getting the game because buying both games will be the cost of Madden Collector's Edition :D

Yea ESPN has some nice stuff out, it's looking real good.

I just hope the defense is improved, I don't like some of the shot adjusments, they made them too unrealistic, but that's okay I guess.

The Isomotion2 looks good, but again like I said we'll have to hope the defense is up to par with the offense so we don't get a dunk contest :D.
I don't want it so that the only was to stop Isomotion would be to take a charge, I hope that's not what they're gearing at, and their's just not that many perimeter charges in an NBA game.

I'm renting it...

Why, its only $20 for you :?

The post game looks over-hyped. They show the same exact move several times. I mean it's a great addition, but I doubt you'll be in as much control as the video suggested. Also, one of the layups that Lebron does looks retarded. It was in 2k3 and 2k4. The ones that Tmac did looked nice, but the one where Lebron goes up with his right then switches to his left looks so generic and unstylish. This game surely deserves a reting if not a purchasing.

Yea that's what I said, they overdid the adjusted layups, but as long as it doesn't happen too often :?

It's looking very nice! I really like the animations (except for the shooting and ball movement), but if these fancy moves occur too often, it will become repetitive and boring. The novelty will wear off, and the game loses re-playability. Also, as Silky Smooth Vlade had indicated, the Isomotion post up moves are all the same (although they are nice moves), but I'm sure refs would call travelling on Chris Webber in the video.

That "hop-step" looks awfully familiar.

Oh, that's right, I think it was in last years game (2k4) but the computer had to do it for you.

lol well they obviouslty copied the hop step and freestyle air, but ESPN is looking like a better version of Live 2004, but with better graphics

I thought the shooting animations were fine IMO. Everything looked smooth in that Isomotion tutorial and there were no pauses between different animations. It's almost lifelike how they have it. :?

The only beefs I had were with the post game (same move over and over) and the way T-Mac and Lebron adjusted their shots.

don't be a smart-ass and take a partial sentence out of context. That wasn't the quote from me, mine was finished with a reason behind it, read above.

yeah both games look really good this year, should be a fun year to play nba hoops on console! I'm betting that NBA live has already gone gold and that's why they keep showing full game clips on ign.com, so that probably mean they will release early, i hope so!

yeah i read the whole sentence and i understand what you were saying, its just funny thats all.

anyway about your point, i think espn already made the big move dropping the tag to 20. this clearly is a stab at lives fans. basicly saying, "give us a try, you wont regret it". like i said in previous posts, this is a great idea. get a bigger following by lowering the price then come back at reg price next year. if they also come out before live they will get a big jump as i know me and a few other people just want a new bball game thats not all about jumping 20 feet in the air and spinning around 17 times before lobbing it off the glass to your self for some reverse dunk. i want a 5 on 5 game that plays like a nba game, if espn comes out first i might just end up getting it, probably not, but depending how much sooner it came out. also if the pc version is delayed i will get espn. i refuse to buy live twice so if i have to get a ps2 bball game i will grab espn.

I liked what I saw from ESPN but like I have said before ESPN doesn't give you the control of the players the way Live does so it LOOKS cool but the gameplay is generic. It's just like you are watching the movie now you just enter the ISO motion command and it performs the movement for you to see, Live allows you to stay in the game as you control the player and never get that down time feeling or feeling of watching from the sideline but constant being in the game feeling. All ESPN needs to do is re-write that ISOMotion and give the players move realistic body movement( they look so robotic to me) and they would be where they need to be with me buying the game for $20. Live just needs to fix their graphic engine from an XBOX perspective and port to everyone else and they should be cool. ESPN is more for the gamer who wants a game you can play and grasp very quickly, Live is for the player who wants to feel like they are always in the game and doesn't mind the complexity of the Freestyle controls. That's just my opinion all may or may not agree. :D

So far I didn't hear "ESPN 2k5 for PC!"
so "No competition" is right. Especially if you frequently visit this site.
Sho, are you paid by ESPN? If not...then why bother?
Bored.

Does anyone else get annoyed when watching ESPN and you see a guy pull up for a jumper like 5 feet out and they shoot it with the same exact form they'd shoot a three? And they always do the same lil tiny hop thing after they release their shot. And when someone scores, the players that are inbounding stand and move very robotic. I'm not exactly bashing this game though, because I see many, many positives about it, and I will most likely be purchasing. I just wanted to vent a few things that piss me off about it.
