Thanks for the suppor guys ...

Hornets 98 - Suns 79

That game started with the Suns hitting shots, but I missed nearly everything. I didnt get anything going in the first quarter. But I managed to close the gap to 2 at the end of the quarter. Than I put the pressure on them and they stumbled. Most of the fourth I sat my starters as Phoenix gave up. That gave my second unit significant playing time. In the end I had to put the starters back in as I wanted to slow them down more to hold them under 80 points.

Midway through the first DeMarr Johnson, their starting SG got injured, but came back later. Only seconds later Stephen Jackson got injured, he was also able to come back shortly after that. When Jackson was cleared, I subbed him in again, hoping to reinjure him for a longer time. He got reinjured, but was only out for the game. Later in the Game Stephon Marbury got also injured, he is out for 8 days, although during the game it was only said he is out for the game.

The teams were evenly matched up, both ranked 81 overall and the individual matchups were pretty even. But the Suns put up a match for only the first quarter. In the end they didn't manage a comeback and I won the game 98-79, holding them under 80, as I wanted. Now I have the scoring average of my opponents down to 100.1 ppg, so now I can move on to the goal to get it significantly under 100.

DerMarr Johnson has a 59 overall rating, Joe Johnson has 58. Thats why DerMarr is the starter over Joe.

And Horatio Quinton has played 2 minutes so far, getting 1 reb in one game and missing a field goal in the other :). He wont see much playing time, as I have only included him in the trade to make it work. James Lang is my backup C.

Well ... another two games in the books ... here we go.

Hornets 101 - Sixers 94

I thought this game would be a shootout, but it wasn't. Philly stayed in front most of the game but in the end I was able to come back and win it. And I held them scoreless for the last 2 minutes.

James Lang got injured during the game, so did David West. While Lang played again and wasn't reinjured, West got reinjured after playing again and was out for the game. Afterwards he was lightly injured for another four days.

Shareef Abdur-Rahim got Player of the Game in this one.

Top Performers

Hornets:
Shareef Abdur-Rahim (POG) - 32 pts, 7 reb, 1 blk, 1 ass
Baron Davis - 20 pts, 5 reb, 2 stl, 7 ass
Jamaal Magloire - 19 pts, 15 reb, 2 ass
Lamar Odom - 17 pts, 2 reb, 3 blk, 1 stl, 6 ass

Sixers:
Allan Iverson - 26 pts, 5 reb, 1 stl, 2 ass
Eric Snow - 6 pts, 4 reb, 13 ass
Glen Robinson - 25 pts, 4 reb, 2 ass
Todd MacCulloch - 12 pts, 8 reb, 1 blk, 3 ass

Newbie Watch ...

Ndudi Ebi - 1 reb, 2 blk, 1 stl, 3 ass in 12 minutes
Marquis Daniels - DNP-CD

Hornets 99 - Bulls 103

The first matchup with the Bulls was decided in overtime. This game was a hard one too. It was close throughout, with the Bulls leading most of the way, but I always stayed close.

I played David West major minutes in order to reinjure him  But he didn't do me the favour. He responded with a career high 16 pts. Because I played some backup players more minutes I didn't played good enough to win it and so my seven game winning streak ended.

Antonio Davis got Player of the Game.

I have played six more games and here are the stats:

Hornets 92 - Pacers 101

Right after the loss to the Bulls I played the Pacers. I don't remember much of this game, other than I lost it :(. David West had another great game, scoring a career high 22 pts. Ron Artest lit me up for 38 pts and got POG.

Top Performers

Hornets:
David West - 22 pts, 4 reb, 1 blk, 1 ass
Baron Davis - 16 pts, 3 reb, 1 stl, 8 ass
Jamaal Magloire - 8 pts, 14 reb, 1 blk, 4 ass
Lamar Odom - 14 pts, 5 reb, 1 blk, 1 stl, 4 ass
Shareef Abdur-Rahim - 12 pts, 5 reb, 1 blk, 2 ass

Pacers:
Ron Artest (POG) - 38 pts, 9 reb
Jermaine O'Neal - 16 pts, 6 reb, 3 blk, 1 stl, 2 ass
Jamaal Tinsley - 10 pts, 3 reb, 9 ass

Newbie Watch ...

Marquis Daniels - 1 missed FGA in 5 minutes
Ndudi Ebi - 1 reb in 6 minutes
Maciej Lampe - 2 pts, 2 ass in 5 minutes

Hornets 101 - Heat 75

I came back with a vengeance a game later vs. the Heat and hold them to 75 points. Even Mashburns 3pt shooting couldn't keep them in the game, as he attempted 18 3pt shots, but made only 3. David West and Shareef Abdur-Rahim split the minutes equally at PF and West plays awesome with the minutes I give him. In this game I also started to transform Baron Davis more into a pass first PG ... he responded with 15 ass and won POG honors.

Their rookie PG had a near triple double ... something I haven't achieved so far this season.

Top Performers

Hornets:
Baron Davis (POG) - 12 pts, 3 reb, 1 stl, 15 ass
Jamaal Magloire - 16 pts, 11 reb, 2 blk, 1 ass
Shareef Abdur-Rahim - 12 pts, 9 reb, 2 ass
Lamar Odom - 13 pts, 2 reb, 2 blk, 4 ass
David West - 12 pts, 7 reb, 1 blk, 1 ass

Heat:
Liam Bing - 12 pts, 10 reb, 9 ass
Brian Grant - 20 pts, 10 reb, 1 stl, 1 ass
Eddie Jones - 17 pts, 5 reb, 1 ass
Jamal Mashburn - 13 pts (on 5/22 shooting, 3/18 3pt), 7 reb, 1 ass

Newbie Watch ...

Marquis Daniels - 5 pts in 6 minutes
Ndudi Ebi - 0 pts, 5 reb, 3 blk, 4 ass in 14 minutes
Maciej Lampe - 2 pts, 2 reb, 1 ass in 8 minutes

Next games in the next two posts ...

Ok ... here the next two games @ Golden State and @ Portland.

Hornets 116 - Warriors 106

The Warriors put up a real fight. They wouldn't let me get away all game long. Especially young players Troy Murphy, Jason Richardson and Mike Dunleavy jr. held them in the game. But in the end I prevailed and won this game. Baron Davis again got POG.

Top Performers

Hornets:
Baron Davis (POG) - 18 pts, 4 reb, 1 stl, 20 ass
Jamaal Magloire - 21 pts, 16 reb, 2 blk, 1 ass
David West - 19 pts, 8 reb

Warriors:
Troy Murphy - 24 pts, 8 reb, 1 stl, 2 ass
Jason Richardson - 21 pts, 5 reb, 1 ass
Nick van Exel - 15 pts, 2 reb, 7 ass
Mike Dunleavy jr. - 23 pts, 2 reb, 2 ass

Newbie Watch ...

Marquis Daniels - 4 pts, 4 ass in 8 minutes
Ndudi Ebi - 4 pts, 1 reb, 4 blk, 1 ass in 11 minutes
Maciej Lampe - 4 pts, 2 reb, 2 ass in 11 minutes

Hornets 98 - Trailblazers 95

This was an awesome game. I had to adjust my plan on giving backup players such as David West big minutes and had to stick to my starting five to win this one. Most of the game Portland led by double figures, at one time early in the third they led by 18 pts. But then I made big comeback in the third quarter and in the end a potential gametying 3pt rimmed off and I barely escaped Rose Garden with the win. Surprisingly, former Hornet player George Lynch did most of the damage ...

And again, Baron Davis got POG.

Top Performers

Hornets:
Baron Davis (POG) - 13 pts, 6 reb, 15 ass
Jamaal Magloire - 17 pts, 12 reb, 2 blk, 4 ass
Shareef Abdur-Rahim - 22 pts, 12 reb, 1 ass

Blazers:
Zach Randolph - 12 pts, 11 reb, 1 stl
Derek Anderson - 19 pts, 4 reb, 2 stl, 2 ass
George Lynch - 19 pts, 4 reb, 4 ass
Damon Stoudemire - 14 pts, 3 reb, 6 ass

Newbie Watch ...

Marquis Daniels - 1 missed 3pt attempt in 3 minutes
Ndudi Ebi - 6 pts, 3 reb, in 14 minutes
Maciej Lampe - absolutely nothing in 6 minutes

And the final two games ... vs. the Warriors again and @ Arco Arena vs. the Kings.

Hornets 120 - Warriors 91

This one was a blowout. Both Jamaal Magloire and David West just exploded on offense, scoring 34 and 14 pts respectively, each grabbing 11 reb. This time the Warriors didn't stand a chance and so I blew them out.

Jamaal Magloire got POG.

Top Performers

Hornets:
Jamaal Magloire (POG) - 34 pts, 11 reb, 1 blk, 2 ass
Baron Davis - 15 pts, 1 reb, 18 ass
David West - 14 pts, 11 reb, 1 ass

Warriors:
Nick van Exel - 14 pts, 3 reb, 1 stl, 9 ass
Eric Dampier - 6 pts, 7 reb, 5 blk, 1 ass
Troy Murphy - 20 pts, 8 reb

Newbie Watch ...

Marquis Daniels - 4 pts, 1 reb, 1 ass in 8 minutes
Ndudi Ebi - 4 pts, 2 blk, 1 ass, in 13 minutes
Maciej Lampe - 9 pts, 1 ass in 10 minutes

Hornets 120 - Kings 103

The Kings started good and managed to lead for most of the first half. But in the second half, I got away and stayed up front til the end. Not even the scoring explosion of Rasheed Wallace helped them and this one was a blowout too ... Baron Davis got POG again, for the 12th time this season. Maciej Lampe played very well, getting most of the minutes on SF behind Lamar Odom.

Top Performers

Hornets:
Baron Davis (POG) - 25 pts, 2 reb, 1 stl, 25 ass
Jamaal Magloire - 26 pts, 9 reb, 1 blk, 2 ass
Shareef Abdur-Rahim - 14 pts, 7 reb, 1 blk, 1 ass
David West - 15 pts, 7 reb

Kings:
Mike Bibby - 10 pts, 6 reb, 1 blk, 11 ass
Chris Webber - 24 pts, 9 reb, 1 ass
Rasheed Wallace - 30 pts, 1 reb, 1 stl, 2 ass
Brad Miller - 6 pts, 7 reb, 1 stl, 4 ass

Newbie Watch ...

Marquis Daniels - DNP
Ndudi Ebi - 2 reb in 5 minutes
Maciej Lampe - 10 pts, 6 reb, 1 blk, 3 ass in 17 minutes

Thoughts ...

Well ... that sure was an interesting 6 game stretch. Giving David West major minutes behind Shareef Abdur-Rahim has payed of big time. Before the Chicago game he averaged 4.5 ppg on roughly 10 minutes a game. The last seven games he averaged over 15 ppg in 18.4 minutes a game, posting his first double-double in the second Golden State game. So he will surely fill the void at PF, once Shareef Abdur-Rahim is traded for a draft pick later in the season. Especially since his supposed back up, Maciej Lampe, also seems to be a pretty good pickup.

Ndudi Ebi is somewhat streaky, especially his blocks. One game he blocks 4 shots, the next game not a single one. He isn't that much of a shooter, but he isn't supposed to be one. We'll see how he responds, once he gets 15-20 minutes a night, when Odom is traded and he plays behind Stephen Jackson.

Speaking of Jackson ... he isn't a big time scorer either, so in the future, the SF position will mainly be a defensive one. But he is able to score around 10 ppg consistently, so I won't trade him again and keep him.

But the best thing is Baron Davis. Before the Miami Game he averaged 26.3 ppg and 8.5 assists per game. The last five games his ppg average dropped from 26.3 to 24.3, but his assists per game increased from 8.5 to 10.7. In the first 18 games he dished out doublefigure assists only five times, in the last five games he dished out at least 15 assists in every game, averaging 18.6 assists in those five games. So I can say I have somewhat achieved my goal of decreasing the scoring load for him. He is now back in MVP race on fifth place, his scoring average is second only to Shaquille O'Neal (25.3 ppg), his assist average is first (10.7 apg) to Jason Kidd's 8.0 apg.

I will continue with my plan of trading Rahim and Odom for draft picks, I'll then will pick up some scrubs to fill the roster spots. David West and Maciej Lampe should fill the PF spot quite nicely, Jackson will switch from SG to SF, giving Alexander the SG starting spot.

So much for now ... but stay tuned, there will be more to come :D.

Hey Big Easy! Nice updates…I hope you can get good timing on trading your players for Draft Picks. Try offering your players to a team a game or two after they release a player, from my experience that's when that team is usually open to trading for a draft pick.

Are you still doing an 82 game season? If so, can I get your midseason pstat file when you get to that point?

I'll try that ... thanks.

Yes, I am still on a 82 game season. Currently I have completed 23 games, so til midseason it will be a while. But sure, you can get the midseason pstat file, once I get there.

Hornets 108 - Cavaliers 91

They had no chance from the beginning. I jumped out to an early lead, and although they would tie it somewhere in the first quarter, they had no chance. Baron Davis put on an early bid for a triple double, but overall fell one rebound short of it. LeBron James was very much a no-show (and was strangely only referred to as No. 23), Ilgauskas blocked the sh.. out of me and JR Bremer scored nearly at will in his 8 minutes. But still they were not able to overcome a 30 pt deficit in the third and lost.

Lamar Odom was topscorer with 21 pts, something he hasn't done in quite a while. Maciej Lampe proved again very effective, this time getting all his minutes on the PF spot behind Rahim and West. I tried to get Baron Davis a triple-double, but before he could get his 10th rebound, he fouled out, but still got the POG award. David West got the most minutes of the 3 PF's, but wasn't that overwhelming. He still scored 10 pts, giving him an average of 14.5 over the last 8 games.

Top Performers

Hornets:
Baron Davis (POG) - 12 pts, 9 reb, 1 stl, 16 ass
Lamar Odom - 21 pts, 2 stl, 3 ass
Darrell Armstrong - 10 pts, 1 reb, 2 stl, 6 ass
Jamaal Magloire - 20 pts, 5 reb

Cavaliers:
Zydrunas Ilgauskas - 12 pts, 7 reb, 6 blk, 1 ass
Carlos Boozer - 16 pts, 4 reb, 3 blk, 2 ass
LeBron James - 8 pts, 2 reb, 8 ass
Adesino Nelson (their rookie SG) - 15 pts, 5 reb, 1 ass

Newbie Watch ...

Marquis Daniels - 2 pts, 1 ass in 4 minutes
Ndudi Ebi - 0 pts, 3 reb, 3 blk, 1 stl in 16 minutes
Maciej Lampe - 8 pts, 6 reb, 2 ass in 13 minutes

Hornets 114 - Clippers 93

Here it was similar to the Cavs game in the beginning. I led most of the first half, with a 60-45 halftime break. In the third quarter they started a big comeback, tying it eventually at 67 late in the third. But in the fourth I pulled away again and got the Win. Even Maggettes 40 pts didn't help them much, because nobody was able to do much besides him.

Lamar Odom got injured in the third quarter, but was able to come back later in the same quarter and despite the injury was the second best Hornet on the floor. Maciej Lampe had a break out game, recording the first double-double of his career with a careerhigh 10 rebounds. He also had a career high 2 blocks. I am now convinced this is a great pickup. He played all three frontcourt positions, so that David West and Ndudi Ebi got their minutes too. And it payed of. It surely helps to be 7 foot tall :). Shareef Abdur-Rahim was quite ineffective, missing his first four FGA's. Baron Davis got his 14th POG award and is still 5th in the MVP race. I think I have to up his rebounds per game, maybe than he'll climb the ladder a bit, especially after his assists per game are now up to 11 a game.

Top Performers

Hornets:
Baron Davis (POG) - 20 pts, 3 reb, 1 blk, 13 ass
Lamar Odom - 17 pts, 5 reb, 1 stl, 6 ass
Maciej Lampe - 13 pts, 10 reb, 2 blk, 1 ass in 16 minutes
Jamaal Magloire - 19 pts, 8 reb, 1 ass
Courtney Alexander - 11 pts, 3 reb, 1 stl, 4 ass

Clippers:
Corey Maggette - 40 pts, 7 reb, 1 ass
Chris Kaman - 10 pts, 6 reb, 4 blk, 2 ass
Eddie House - 4 pts, 3 reb, 1 stl, 12 ass
Elton Brand - 17 pts, 8 reb, 1 ass

Newbie Watch ...

Marquis Daniels - DNP
Ndudi Ebi - 2 pts, 1 reb, 5 blk in 17 minutes

Woah Im glad you beat the heck out of the Clippers! What a good overall night for Baron Davis there! A good 20 pts and great ass!

Man, 40 points for Maggette, this is soooo correct. He kills me every time and he's the reason why my 2010 Lakers didn't advance to the Finals. Arghhhhh....

Looking forward to your midseason pstat thanks!

I have played another four games ... I don't remember much of them, so I'll mostly only post the stats.

Hornets 128 - SuperSonics 119

Well ... like I said, I don't remember much of this game, as I played it quite some weeks ago. I won it ... that much I can say, and it wasn't easy if I remember correctly :D.

Top Performers

Hornets:
Baron Davis (POG) - 21 pts, 7 reb, 4 stl, 19 ass
Jamaal Magloire - 28 pts, 10 reb, 2 blk
Lamar Odom - 20 pts, 5 reb, 6 ass
Courtney Alexander - 13 pts, 4 reb, 3 ass

Seattle:
Ray Allen - 36 pts, 7 reb, 4 ass
A. Hughes - 23 pts, 8 reb, 3 ass
Rashard Lewis - 30 pts, 3 reb, 1 stl, 4 ass
Ronald Murray - 7 pts, 6 reb, 8 ass
Vladimir Radmanovic - 11 pts, 8 reb, 1 stl, 3 ass

Newbie Watch ...

Marquis Daniels - 1 missed FG in 2 minutes
Ndudi Ebi - 6 pts, 2 reb, 1 ass in 11 minutes
Maciej Lampe - 4 pts, 2 reb, 2 ass in 10 minutes

Hornets 112 - Rockets 118

Surprisingly I lost this game. Til the end I tried to come back and win it, but the solid overall play of most of my guys wasn't enough to win this one.

Top Performers

Hornets:
Baron Davis - 13 pts, 1 reb, 3 stl, 14 ass
Lamar Odom - 16 pts, 4 reb, 3 blk, 7 ass
Shareef Abdur-Rahim - 22 pts, 12 reb, 1 ass
Steven Jackson - 17 pts, 2 reb, 1 blk, 1 stl, 2 ass

Rockets:
Steve Francis (POG) - 18 pts, 5 reb, 1 blk, 1 stl, 9 ass
Yao Ming - 16 pts, 9 reb, 2 blk, 1 stl, 5 ass
Jim Jackson - 23 pts, 5 reb, 3 ass
Cuttino Mobley - 23 pts, 2 reb, 1 stl, 1 ass
Eddie Griffin - 9 pts, 6 reb, 2 blk, 1 ass

Newbie Watch ...

Marquis Daniels - 2 reb and 2 ass in 8 minutes
Ndudi Ebi - 2 pts, 1 reb, 1 blk, 1 ass in 9 minutes
Maciej Lampe - 12 pts, 6 reb, 1 ass in 16 minutes

Hornets 86 - Jazz 109

And another loss, this time quite embarrassing, as I couldn't do anything agianst the Jazz ... nothing I tried worked, and so I had give this one away too ...

On a positive side note ... Ndudi Ebi was awesome with 9 pts, 10 reb and 6 blks.

Top Performers

Hornets:
Baron Davis - 20 pts, 4 reb, 1 stl, 13 ass
Jamaal Magloire - 18 pts, 4 reb, 1 ass
Shareef Abdur-Rahim - 6 pts, 11 reb, 1 ass

Jazz:
Andrei Kirilenko (POG) - 26 pts, 9 reb, 3 blk
Carlos Arroyo - 5 pts, 3 reb, 2 stl, 14 ass
Saul Moss - 20 pts, 5 reb, 3 stl, 1 ass
Jelani McCoy - 8 pts, 7 reb, 1 blk, 1 stl, 1 ass

Newbie Watch ...

Marquis Daniels - 2 reb in 7 minutes
Ndudi Ebi - 9 pts, 10 reb, 6 blk :!: 2 ass in 21 minutes
Maciej Lampe - 3 pts, 1 reb, 1 ass in 15 minutes

Hornets 104 - Knicks 100

And the last game, which I played today. For most of the game the Knicks dominated, leading sometimes with double digits. But I didn't give up and came back to win it. The score was this close because I tried to give Baron Davis a triple double, and in the process let them make some easy baskets. Allan Houston had a chance to tie it with only seconds to go, but he missed a wide open three ...

Speaking of treys ... at the end of the second quarter I subbed in James Lang and his first shot was a 3pt attempt ... he hit it!! Open mouthed I stared at the screen. James Lang actually hit a 3, can you believe it?

Top Performers

Hornets:
Baron Davis (POG) - 31 pts, 7 reb, 4 stl, 13 ass
Jamaal Magloire - 18 pts, 6 reb, 2 blk, 2 ass
Shareef Abdur-Rahim - 21 pts, 8 reb, 2 ass
Stephen Jackson - 6 pts, 9 reb, 5 ass
James Lang - 11 pts (1/1 3pt :!: ), 1 reb

Knicks:
Antonio McDyess - 12 pts, 14 reb, 1 stl, 1 ass
Keith van Horn - 24 pts, 6 reb, 1 stl, 1 ass
Howard Eisley - 14 pts, 2 reb, 10 ass
Isidore Childs - 12 pts, 8 reb, 1 blk, 2 stl
Allan Houston - 23 pts, 6 reb, 1 stl

Newbie Watch ...

Marquis Daniels - 3 missed FG in 5 minutes
Ndudi Ebi - 3 reb, 1 blk, 1 ass in 18 minutes
Maciej Lampe - 2 pts, 2 reb in 7 minutes

I don't know if I'll continue this dynasty as NBA Live 2005 is close to release for PC ... if I find the time, I will continue it ...

Any possibility of playing 12 more games(ie to mid-season) in the next 20 days before '05 comes out?

...

Sincerely, Honor Glow...the stat data muncher

Can't promise anything Honorglow. Initially I wanted to finish the complete 2nd season, but now, with University started again, I won't finish the season before 05 comes out. But midseason should be reachable ... without promising anything.
