Nba live 2004 Choppy?

Thu Sep 09, 2004 12:09 pm

Hello, I just bought a new video card, ATI Radeon 9800 Pro and I have 640 DDR333 Ram on a Pentium 4 2.0 Ghz system. Motherboard is Asus p4s333. I dont have enough doughs to buy an HT processor after buying the video card. Anyways, after buying the video card I expect that the ati 9800 pro would be able to handle nba live 2004 on maximum settings without any problems but when i tested it the gameplay is choppy.... it can play on high settings and rarely chops. I dont know what the problem is... I already have the updated drivers for my video card and the motherboard, I also uninstalled the old nvdia drivers and used "Driver Cleaner" to make sure no nvdia driver is left. Anyone knows the problem here? Why is it choppy? Its already a powerful video card and I thought that it should atleast play nba live 2004 in a maximum settings.

I also used a program called fraps and the fps for maximum settings on nba live is 25 to 35 fps.... i think thats too low. Im not sure if my p4 2.0 processor has anything to do with it... any ideas guys?

im having similar probloms with the game being choppy, im on a similar system to yours with the exception that im running a radeon x800 pro.... after spending that much on a video card I would expect all games to run fine at max settings, Live is the only game I have choppiness/lag with.
