Patrick Stewart looks SOOOOO old.

I've always been interested in Old Man Logan ever since reading a synopsis of it years ago. Shame it doesn't have some of the Marvel characters, but fuck i'll still watch it.

My guess is that after the events of Days of Future Past, the timeline got split into the current timeline (which includes the Logan movie, while also wiping out the first three X-Men films and Origins: Wolverine, and thus reviving Deadpool), and the modified past timeline (which includes the younger cast of James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender).

They just talked about this recently.
Logan takes place after the dark future of DOFP, things "stopped" after all the time-travel but everyone wiped out stayed so because that was before the point the time-travel began.
The other cast is being soft-rebooted under the care of Simon Kinberg, though they may go for a larger scale reboot to get rid of Lawrence and Fassbender's rising salaries.
Bryan Singer is bailing out on the franchise again as well.
Deadpool appropriately will exist in a state where it's free to do as it pleases.

at this point its obvious that fox does not give a shit about time lines or continuity
i personally wish they would just do a full reboot. they had the right idea but then they wanted to compete with the avengers and tried to mix the old with the new. step one to the rebooted universe is to not use wolverine at all for a few films. as much as i love the character they need to sit him for a bit and let the other characters shine

Sauru, your wish may be granted soon I believe. Hugh Jackman's getting old and this will be his last. They will need a fresh face and theme.
