I forget were you able to update jersey colors in the game as well?

Unfortunately not, most team related data like names, logos, and colors are pretty much out of my control. I'm sure there's a way, just probably won't spend any time trying to figure it out.

Here's an update on my progress, as well as some gameplay. Pretty close to ready, maybe a couple weeks out after testing and a few more tweaks.

Thanks a lot man, appreciate that. Hard to believe it's been almost 5 years since it all happened. I'm hoping with all the interest I can drum up for the game I can get some people to donate to the cause. I got in touch with an editor at Kotaku and a writer at Polygon, so I'm hoping I can use that to expand the reach of this project farther than the typical hardcore gamer and reach out to the more casual fans of the older sports titles as well.

I'm going to work on editing the ad boards in the game this weekend, I'll definitely throw in a hat tip to NLSC if I can get it working. The support you guys have given me over the years is much appreciated for sure.

Any suggestions on some secret characters?

Original NBA Jam Legends (these players were the best among the list of players with portraits that can't be edited): Olajuwon, Laettner, David Robinson, Malone, Stockton, Wilkins, Larry JOhnson, Mourning, Pippen, Grant Price, Daugherty, Bogues, Reggie Miller, Ewing, Starks, Anderson, Miner.

The afformentioned All Star Team: 80s: Bird/Magic/Kareem, 90s players not originally in Jam: Barkley, Shaq, Jordan, Recently retired HOFers: KG,Kobe,Duncan, White GOATS: Brian Scalabrine, Jimmer Fredette

Then the wacky / players that are just for fun: Trump, Clinton (coincidentally in the original game), Harambe (Uses the "Suns Gorilla" unlockable character sprite lol), David Ortiz (uses Frank Thomas sprite)

I've got 6 more to go. I'm thinking some more greats might be fun. Maybe Ray Allen, Wilt, Bill Russell, Dr. J, Vince Carter, etc would be fun to mess around with. But I like the wacky players too haha. If you guys got any suggestions let me know!

Maybe Uncle Drew (as an enhanced Kyrie Irving)?

Would be cool to have an Obama in the game.
Harambe is a hilarious idea
They have rappers and musicians in the original so how about some wacky ones like Justin Bieber or Kanye West? J Cole would be cool to put in the game
They also have Randall Cunningham, so maybe put some NFL guys in the game? Tim Tebow?
didn't Manny Pacquiao play a game for the team he owns? That would be funny to put him in
What about 2000s legends like a classic vince carter, AI, mcgrady, Yao, etc

Hey guys, just checking in... I would say I'm about 95% done with everything at this point.. I'd like to give Joel Embiid a boost and rearrange the Sixers lineup (because I'm a converted Sixers fan now after seeing them play last week lol) and a few more tweaks to the ad-boards.. Really shouldn't take me more than an hour to finish up. I would however like to get a playthrough with and against all 27 teams before I release it to the public, but it's coming.. I have a 3 day weekend coming up so I'll hopefully be able to do what I need to do, release a trailer, and tie up the loose ends to get this thing out to the public.

If you guys want first dibs on playing, let me know and I'll send it over via PM.

I've played about 10 games so far and it's a lot of fun - some player / roster data could probably use some tweaking but I really don't think I have the time or the energy to go back and do all that. So I would say this is the finished product unless there are any egregious errors you guys find. Looking forward to your feedback and hopefully I can figure out how to make a trailer in the next 48 hours haha

Hey Millertime2325, congratulations on finally completing this mod!

Good news: After doing some debugging, I figured out what was preventing the options menu from loading. Sixteen bytes in five blocks of the initialization code for the menu got corrupted somehow.

Follow these steps to fix the issue:

1. Open the ROM in a Hex editor and go to the first address in each range (first column), and you should see a sequence of bytes with values matching those in the second column.
2. Change the values to match what is in the third column, and the options menu should be fully functional again!
