What makes this mod “sim”? Here are a few of the features that set this project apart from all others:

- Every art file (jerseys, arenas, cyberfaces, accessories, courts, dornas (advertisement at half court), etc is realistic and none will crash game play
- There is no missing art file in the entire project

Every player in every roster has:
- Accurate statistical ratings and tendencies to work with 2k's simulation engine while still providing realistic game play
- Realistic ratings and tendencies that affect game play but not the simulation engine ie dribbling, athletic ratings, post tendencies, etc.
- Realistic physical attributes that decrease after major injuries or as the player gets older
- Accurate play types
- Accurate contracts

- Accurately updated Coaching profiles and playbooks

- Draft classes that have realistic player information for every player

- A few slider sets designed to be a base for realistic game play

I forgot about that lol

It was going to be too much work to re-edit every season so I decided to go through the players that were given templates before (which was A LOT of players) and give them career ratings/tendencies or versions. Instead of editing 15,000 players, it's only 700 players. Much easier. I have less than 400 players left to go through. Once I get done with that portion, I'm going to tweak play types and sig skills.

Editing 15,000 players while working two jobs, having a family, and overseeing a ministry was just too much.

I'm also trying to convince Sko to make a bunch more retro seasons. Put some heat on him :D

when you release the next roster update could you please release it with cyberface id list update as well as part of the package. my computer is overly protected and it wont allow me to use redmc or any other useful devices for nba 2k14 pc that would allow me to mod for myself

Make redmc and the files that come with it "trusted" files. And you will be all set. I've had it on an overly protected pc for over 3 years, I just had to make the files trusted files.

You can usually right click the file and see an option on the drop down that references making it trusted.

Also, when you first download/unzip red mc, just turn your antivirus/firewall off for like 15 minutes while you make all the files trusted.

You should be fine after that.

Just wanted to let anyone who is still playing 2k14 that my biggest update in a year will be released in the next two weeks. I'm 60% done pasting my most recent edits (a RIDICULOUS amount of changes) to the master spreadsheet. Once I get done pasting into the master spreadsheet, I'll be able to paste into the roster files. That part will take a few minutes per roster.

I've completely redone the offensive and defensive awareness ratings (thanks to WithAuthority/Amber for the help!), raised the speed/quickness for point guards, lowered the speed/quickness for PF/C, edited stamina so simulations will be more accurate, edited consistency and potential, edited post tendencies for all players, tweaked play types for all players, tweaked freelance tendencies, tweaked signature skills based on ratings/tendencies and minutes per game (only players who played 20mpg or more have sig skills), and made sure ALL players have either career ratings/tendencies or versions that display career arcs. I have probably added 300-500 versions of players out of 2700 total players in this update alone.

I also did more research into Isolation plays to determine which ones work and which ones didn't. I will include isolation plays into playbooks and players who deserve them will have isolation play types, also.

This is going to be a MASSIVE UPDATE.

This sounds like a crazy amount of work. Thanks for your dedication and the guys who helped you for bring it to us.
One question: it seems like it's focused on the quick games, but how about The Association players? One post on this thread brought the fact that maybe the trades on that would get a little lopsided, since overalls don't mean as much as they did on the original game, but the game itself uses overall and potential to evaluate a trade.
If it is indeed focused just on the quick games, season or playoffs, I understand.

That's where I will need feedback from the community. Remember, I edited the primary ratings that made the overalls in this project lower than 2k's system (offensive and defensive awareness) and I've reworked potential for all players. This should lead to significantly different (sometimes higher and sometimes lower) overall ratings which should lead to 2k's AI handling transactions more intelligently. However, if you see crazy transactions happening, let me know and I'll fix it.

I'll give you some examples of players who had those three ratings change. All examples are players from the Ultra roster (the best teams from each franchise).

One post on this thread brought the fact that maybe the trades on that would get a little lopsided, since overalls don't mean as much as they did on the original game, but the game itself uses overall and potential to evaluate a trade.
If it is indeed focused just on the quick games, season or playoffs, I understand.


That's where I will need feedback from the community. Remember, I edited the primary ratings that made the overalls in this project lower than 2k's system (offensive and defensive awareness) and I've reworked potential for all players. This should lead to significantly different (sometimes higher and sometimes lower) overall ratings which should lead to 2k's AI handling transactions more intelligently. However, if you see crazy transactions happening, let me know and I'll fix it.

I'll give you some examples of players who had those three ratings change. All examples are players from the Ultra roster (the best teams from each franchise).

I guess the problems with trades came from URB's original take on OVRs, tendencies and signature skills, since they eventually put good players with lower OVRs than worst players, although it gave a more simulation-like experience. Since you said you are the responsible for it, the changes you mentioned are based on the previous URB state, so this particular problem should get solved. Count on me for feedback.

What makes this mod “sim”? Here are a few of the features that set this project apart from all others:

- Every art file (jerseys, arenas, cyberfaces, accessories, courts, dornas (advertisement at half court), etc is realistic and none will crash game play
- There is no missing art file in the entire project

Every player in every roster has:
- Accurate statistical ratings and tendencies to work with 2k's simulation engine while still providing realistic game play
- Realistic ratings and tendencies that affect game play but not the simulation engine ie dribbling, athletic ratings, post tendencies, etc.
- Realistic physical attributes that decrease after major injuries or as the player gets older
- Accurate play types
- Accurate contracts

- Accurately updated Coaching profiles and playbooks

- Draft classes that have realistic player information for every player

- A few slider sets designed to be a base for realistic game play
