It's called encryption. Steam does that for all games.

Oh well. This is like some dial up transfer speed. No optical drive? In your case you would probably get the game earlier buying physical edition. Or maybe NBA is not that popular in Ireland so you would have to wait till wednesday or sometning..

There's no physical edition of the PC version. Well, there is, but it's a Steam key in a box, so you run into the same issue at the end of the day.

Well I probably won't get the game finished until at least next week. I just wish they could've given us a preload a little earlier so I could at least squeeze in some playing time into the weekend. I don't know what took them so long to get it going.

Pre ordered by steam and it's mid night (almost 12:30) and I still can't download the full game. Says its not available. Any one else having this issue?

Yup, it's pre-loaded onto my system but still locked. 12:28 EST.

Would have been awesome if they had told us ahead of time, Ronnie and the other 2k community people never once mentioned that time. But hey, they got all the pre-orders in, and the console people are happy.... so who really cares about PC users right?

You could have bigger problems, like mine, different areas of 2K washing their hands because the "2K Official Store" sent me a blocked key.
