No post account

I know this won't happen but i was thinking no post account= less spam= less "anniversary" threads= less double posting = less "you're posting 10 a day get a life" = less "im in the top 10, yay" = less...

On another note i think too much.

I think the only thing I'd like to see is not being able to see your post count... but yeah I think people are going to spam regardless.

On another note, is there anyway to get rid of the person with the user name "Jae"? It's pissing me off, I'm sick of this dot at the end and that person doesn't post or anything. Or hasn't posted.

Take the dot like a man you bitch!

word.

I'm against deleting the post count because I'm a fooking stats freak :P

Some people will spam whether there's a visible post count or not. I really don't think removing it would do much good - the old forum did not publically display individual post counts and there was still plenty of spamming. Most forums display post count, it's the rules and the attitude of the posters that really determine how much spam the forum sees.

I'm sick of being called a "spammer" and everyone saying you have 10 posts a day. I just post for what topics I want to post on. I didn't know there was a limit to how many posts I make on these forums...

Thu Sep 02, 2004 6:30 am

Alot of your posts lack substance, that's why you're labelled a spammer. It's all dandy as candy if you average 10 some posts & like 7 of them are worthy posts, but if 1 of the 10 is worthy, then you'll be called a spammer.

It's not the quantity that makes you a spammer, it's the quantity + the quality of your posts.

Thu Sep 02, 2004 6:51 am

Who judges if my posts a quality or not? If they voice my opinion then that is quality posting. I'm come on here not to write lengthy essay's but to vice my opinion. Sometimes my opinion is long and sometimes my opinion is short but that doesn't mean that it's spamming.

NO FX-Franco-Un American
I don't get it...I must be slow.
aw.... your so kind....
atleast this time you didn't freak out
I could eat that face.
Screw you.
copy cat

Some of your top notch quality posts. Lets not forget the shiznit [spammage] in the awards threads shall we?

Again, I'm not saying EVERY post should be a good post, all of us spam. It just gets annoying when 9 of the 10 posts are one liners &/or a lame attempt at humor.

Anyways, you got offended the last time I tried to explain why you're labelled a spammer so I'll just shut the fuck up & go sit in a corner.

You won't lose that title though.

Thu Sep 02, 2004 8:00 am

most of thsoe one liners were suppose to be one liners. The Franco Un-American was completely on topic. It was the only "embrassing song" I had in my player.

most of those were responding to other peoples spamming.

In other words you were spamming because they were spamming.

Now I ask you this, why are you complaining about being called a spammer if you know you spam?

Thu Sep 02, 2004 8:33 am

What is "spamming"? Is it considered spamming if you are on topic and giving your opinion in a topic even if it's short? Or is it something that is unnesscary but still on topic?

What is the definition of spamming?

Thu Sep 02, 2004 4:29 pm

There's a few things that can be considered spamming, the one Jackal's referring to is most likely constantly posting things such as "I agree" or "Ditto" after quoting someone else's post, as well as posting completely off-topic messages.

We all post things that could probably be classed as spam now and again. It's when spam is all a person contributes to the forum that they are really being a disturbance.

I think some people have latched onto the idea that a high post count equals spam. It depends on the posts the post a person is making. If a majority of their posts are on-topic in a discussion or helping someone with a problem in the NBA Live sections, they can hardly be considered a spammer.

Thu Sep 02, 2004 5:53 pm

hum, sorry for being stupid, but what does "ditto" means? same with message just with "word" or "period" :)

Thu Sep 02, 2004 6:16 pm

Ditto is another way of saying "the same", when used colloquially it can also mean "I agree" or "My thoughts are the same".
