Report: Sam Hinkie steps down as 76ers GM, prez of basketball opsSam Hinkie has stepped down as the Philadelphia 76ers' general manager and president of basketball operations, according to ESPN.com's Marc Stein, nearly three years after taking the reins of the organization and embarking on an unprecedented campaign of rebuilding through the lottery that, thus far, has produced only in one of the worst on-court runs in NBA history.
Under Hinkie's tenure, the 76ers have amassed an NBA-worst record of 47-195 mark since the 2013-14 season, winning fewer than 20 games in each of his three years on the job. (This year's club currently stand at 10-68, with a Tuesday win ensuring that they won't share the 1972-73 Sixers' mark for the worst single-season record in NBA history at 9-73.) Two seasons ago, the 76ers tied an NBA record for consecutive losses at 26 in a row. This season, the 76ers tied an NBA record for consecutive losses to start a campaign, opening up 0-18.
So I guess he didn't believe in the Process, after all.

Thank God. Maybe they'll actually try to win next year. They should have been relegated to the D-League years ago

Sending my CV to 76ers owner.
My previous experience includes successful playoffs run in NBA 2K as a GM (of post LeBron Heat).

It's not like the team can do much worse right now.

I've said this before. Someone else was gonna come in and take the credit for whatever he's done. He was there for tanking.

Exactly, if Embiid comes back & they get Saric from Europe they're not that terrible of a team. It sucks he didn't get to see his plan to the end, he went through all the shit and now Bryan Colangelo will reap the rewards.
They've got pieces to trade thanks to him.

I think they should get guards in the draft. Their frontcourt is solid right now.

I blame that meddling Jew Adam Silver for this.
'Requested' Sixers owner Josh Harris to have Colangelo as 'special advisor' to the franchise.
