Can someone explain to me how boston's ratings are figured out because it seems like they're overall rating continues to grow but it doesnt refelct in the game. I remember welsch had a 3pt sign and so did pierce. did they lose jones to LA? and i remember he had a 3pt sign as well.

I'm pretty sure Jones didn't have a 3 pt sign...the team ratings are based on the team and Boston's depth continues to grow so much that that team is incredibly deep at every position (if Payton plays) except rebounding big man...

- Nachbar and Padgett should flip-flop in the rotation (thus, why I made the changes last time)
- IMO, Booth > Bradley (again, the rating changes last time)
- If you're not going to up the stats of players like Foyle and Pietrus based on the late season outburst, then at least up the FG/3 pt (48 for Foyle, 66/64 for Pietrus) because they can shoot.
- Agree with Lattner's 56 rating coming down (although his 56 FG should go up).

well lets take for example marcus banks is he really that terrible of a shooter? when i shoot with him the shot hits the top of the backboard. Does some1 have any numbers on him?and jones did have a 3pt sign on the default rosters

If Lafrentz is lowered in ins. scoring will his permiter game be compensated at all? I agree with some of ur ideas but i think that Prince being ranked same as kobe would b over rating prince. I also think that defense ratings r fine with the exception of Mcgrady i think Mcgrady is lazy on D at times. Everything else could use some tweaking

i dont think that would be overrating prince bec hes a good defender and he did a great job on kobe. prince is the more defensive oriented player bec kobe has to carry the team with his offense leaving him with less energy to defend.

SPURS linton johnson III higher steal rating. he Ranks #18 in the NBA in steals Per 48 Minutes(2.42) last season better than jason kidd(2.39) and arenas(2.39). should be a sf/pf instead of sf/sf. he even played center at some time last season.

devin brown lower range to emphasize his mid range game. he doesnt shoot three's a lot.

beno udrih(49) should have higher overall than romain sato(50).

Why would you rate Nocioni 65?
his current rating of 59 is too high for him.

He's better than Deng right now, better than Iggy, Wright, McKie (just names I looked at from my post)...but 65 is possibly too high for him, I'll look at other players that are 65. However, if Deng is a 65, Nocioni should be at least a 65, that is without a doubt. Also, overall rating can be misleading, as it's based on all-around skills. Ratings can sometimes be drastically affected because the player doesn't dunk and can't jump very high.

We clash yet again . IMO, if anything Nene is underrated...he is definitely better than Camby and just a hair below Martin...which I believe is where 79 puts him at.

JASON KIDD lower 3 pt to mid 60's. at 69, he's overrated as a shooter. he had 32.1% season. and just 20% playoffs. and he's higher than ginobilli(68) who shot 36% season and 28.6% playoffs. he's a great player but just an average shooter.

RIP HAMILTON lower 3pt to mid 60's. at 68, he's overrated as a 3pt shooter. he shot well in the playoffs yet he still is a below 30% career 3 pt shooter.

ANDREI KIRILENKO higher fg to 69-70. he shot 44.3% last season.

MANU GINOBILLI SPEED & QUICK to mid 80's. at 82, he's as fast as antawn jamison (6'9, 223) ?

STEALS to high 80's.his default (original nbalive 2004 roster) steal rating is 91. i dont think it should be down to his current rating(84). he's one of the league leaders(Ranks #3 in the NBA in Steals Per 48 Minutes(2.89)) even playing off the bench.
2003-2004 season - nene (86 steal rating) 1.51 spg in 32.5 mins. stephen jackson (84) 1.78 in 36.8 mins. jason kidd(90) 1.82 in 36.6 mins. ginobilli 1.77 in 29.4 mins.

OFF REB to high 20's. at 25, he's lower than bruce bowen (25) who averaged 0.50 off rpg in 32.0 mins last season. while ginobilli 1.10 off rpg in 29.4 mins.

FREE THROW to at least 77. he's a career 77.8% ft shooter. 80.2 lasts season and 81.8 playoffs.

INS. SCORING to 58-59. he's not an established outside shooter so he score's more inside. at 53, he ranks lower than rip hamilton, sam cassell who are outside scorers.

I sure hope your not thinking of giving Fish a good 3pt rating because I see him all the time and he just doesn't hit it like he used to. I was also curious and went to NBA.com and noticed that in the 03-04 season Fish's 3 pt % was 29.1% I rest my case.

Noted. And no, I don't think Derek Fisher should have a three point icon either, but perhaps a rating that should allow him to attempt and hit them fairly consistenly at a lower percentage would be in order.

Lower his strength. I've read reports that he can't even bench 145 lbs. At 34, he's as strong as many players with 25 or 30 lbs. on him.

Chris Webber:
Lower his passing. He's rated at 69, while averaging 4.6 apg in real life. Antoine Walker, who averaged 4.5 apg, is only rated at 56. And with his injuries, does he still deserve a dunk rating of 90 and quickness and speed ratings of about 70?

Steve Nash:
Lower his defensive awareness more. At 64, he's a better defender than most starting PGs in the game.

Marcus Banks:
He ranked #1 last season in spg per 48 minutes. He deserves a far higher steal rating than 70.

Rasheed Wallace:
He averaged 33% from behind the 3pt line last season. He deserves to be in the high 60s to low 70s, rather than the low 50s.

Stanislav Medvedenko:
His FG rating should be raised so that his mid range jumper is a considerable (if inconsistent) threat. With a rating of 62, he's not a good shooter at all, which makes him complete trash in the game since that's all he can do in real life. His shooting range of 15 feet also needs to be slightly increased.

Richard Hamilton:
In addition to lowering his 3pt rating, lower his effective shooting range to within the 3pt line. He's overrated at 25 feet.

Doug Christie:
Lower his defensive awareness. At 95, he's got the highest defensive awareness of any active player. While he's a perennial All-Defensive Team selection, I think most people consider Bowen and Artest to be a step above him.

Shaq's offensive rebounding (80) and defensive rebounding (83) should be increased. Almost every notable big man (and even a few second and third tier players) have better rebounding ratings than him. He shouldn't be as good as KG, Duncan, or Big Ben, but he is one of the top rebounders in the league.

i'm not a webber fan but i think his pass rating is fine. he's still one of the best passing big man in the league. you cant take everything away from an injured player, otherwise andrew's ratings would be bouncing up and down all the time with all player injuries. if this is the case, iverson probably will be slower now, lower fg, etc. he played injured last season but i think he will be better this season and so will webber.

i agree. this is also the case in sam cassell, jamal mashburn. both have high def awareness ratings.
