i really wanted to see these 2 go head to head but that makes no sense for either company. i would of seen both opening night anyway

I'm still interested to see it, but I get the impression it's going to be more Man of Steel than The Dark Knight in terms of its quality.

If you strip out the origin and flashbacks bullshit, leaving only the nomadic Clark, I think Man of Steel is thematically a lot better. It takes the concepts in the TDK trilogy and doesn't ditch them for insanity.

Although it and the trailer have completely telegraphed this film. Superman is being treated as a messiah and still considered a threat to humanity, Batman comes in to find out what his deal is since he's so dangerous, some big bad shows up and the Justice League forms out of confronting it after originally being brought together on the sides of Batman v. Superman.

Man of Steel and this film are actually stealing from the comics more than Goyer did in the TDK trilogy. And this time he actually took the most compelling concept and Snyder's run hard with it. The fact that the Fifth World Gods are as dangerous to humanity as they are beneficial. Superman's mere existence leveled much of the planet and nearly destroyed it altogether. The film isn't "dark and gritty" (other than it's color "correction") as much as it's not treating the non-superhero elements as throwaway. Ultimately the Justice League will always be heroes because they have to be, but if the DCFU runs with this concept (which has also dominated The New 52) throughout it'll be ultimately more compelling than the MCU. (Which has dabbled, but ultimately will refuse to go in that direction, even with Civil War.)

Zod is one of the worst parts of the film, unless you accept the theory that he eventually decides to commit suicide by Superman.

Other than the Winter Soldier, and it's limited to traditional action not superhero action so much. Man of Steel has the best battles out of any modern superhero film.

It's all about Faora and her smirking amusement at Earth weakness.

The Wonder Woman shot is the best one in the trailer imo.

Smashing into some concrete thing at superspeeds like it ain't no thing and ready to kick whoever did it into Mount Olympus.

Also, Luthor is pretty great. As somebody said it's like they told him "play it like The Social Network times 9000."

I'm not sure it's going to be anything special in terms of story and whatnot, but the action is probably going to be fun. While I do have an appreciation for the characters, I'm not one to froth at the mouth at an adaption that does something a little differently, or falls short of becoming the new standard. I'll give it a look when it comes out.

the story will be fairly predictable i think but thats ok, just looking forward to seeing these 2 on screen together

I'm so torn: I love Batman and hate Superman, but I also hate Ben Affleck. Everybody loses with this movie.

Batfleck has actually been my favorite part of the trailers, he seems like he really wants to do the role justice.

Bruce annihilated Clark from orbit. I liked that it played a bit off some of the things in the Batman/Superman (pre-New 52) series where the writers had internal monologues about how the two approach things. With Clark finding Bruce overly paranoid and cynical about human nature, and Bruce finding Clark to be naive and too reliant on his powers, etc.

So Zack Snyder just gave away the climax of the movie with the Doomsday reveal.

Looks like he's pretty confident with the action scenes in carrying the movie despite revealing the plot through the released trailers.

That's the speculation regarding the trailer for the trailer, that it's part of a dream sequence or Batman being paranoid about Superman.

Then parademons happened.



Assumption now is that someone is giving Batman a premonition of an alien threat coming (Darkseid, in Superman sequel or JL movie?) but Batman being crazy imagines the alien threat to be Superman.

My bet is on J'onn J'onzz, since why would Wonder Woman care about Superman, Batman, and Michaelangelo killing each other so she appears out of nowhere unless she also received an invite.

So...based on that trailer, it looks like this plot leak from a few months back is full of pretty accurate things. Lots of remarkably specific details shown in the latest trailer for fan fiction.
