I don't play a basketball video game to see Spike Lee. I play a basketball video game to play basketball.

It's a little silly to play the role of someone who's meant to be a big deal, yet is rated around the level of someone who's likely to bounce around the league as the 10th man on the roster for the duration of their career.

I have to think that this is part of their goal. To keep you playing just long enough for the new release. If you max out in a week, you're more likely to quickly bore of the mode, I would imagine. This way they keep you grinding long enough to get longevity out of the game until the following year's release. Doesn't sound like much fun (I don't play the mode, so I have no idea), but on some level I've got to imagine it is designed this way purposefully. As Andrew mentioned, though, if you start a guy at 65-70 and just tweak how progression works, you could accomplish the same thing without the most frustrating early components of being terrible.JWL3 wrote:This is really really frustrating and reminds me that it's gonna be an unpleasurable grind AGAIN this year to get to 99. And when I do, here comes 2k17!
It all has to do with your expectations I guess. I never seek to achieve a 99 rating, because I'd rather my player have realistic flaws than be perfect. I'm more than happy to be a role player my entire career, but I know that's not for everyone.
JWL3 wrote:Just curious: what are your stats in the first season rated around 55?
Half my shots get blocked, I play 11min, can't get by my defender, shoot like 20% FG, turn the ball over 3x, 4 ppg, 1assist, 3 rebounds, 2 steals. Every time I go into the game, my team goes down like 10 points. It's just awful. I'm the PG and I want to get rid of the ball asap so I don't mess up my team's win.
Just pretend you're Anthony Bennett or Kwame Brown and being drafted top 10 with a sub 60 overall makes sense
