Interest for 2k14 Project

Postby slimm44 on Sat Jul 25, 2015 12:49 am

If you guys could help me out, it would be great. I haven't been in the 2k14 forums for a while and thought this would be the best place to ask.

I'm wondering if there is any interest for a large-scale 2k14 project with completely accurate logos, dornas, stadiums, courts, accessories, teams, rotations, ratings, tendencies, sig skills, hot spots, play types, playbooks, and coaching profiles? I've seen a project like this in the 2k13 forums and wondered how it would be received in the 2k14 forums.

Feedback is appreciated.

What makes this mod “sim”? Here are a few of the features that set this project apart from all others:

- Every art file (jerseys, arenas, cyberfaces, accessories, courts, dornas (advertisement at half court), etc is realistic and none will crash game play
- There is no missing art file in the entire project

Every player in every roster has:
- Accurate statistical ratings and tendencies to work with 2k's simulation engine while still providing realistic game play
- Realistic ratings and tendencies that affect game play but not the simulation engine ie dribbling, athletic ratings, post tendencies, etc.
- Realistic physical attributes that decrease after major injuries or as the player gets older
- Accurate play types
- Accurate contracts

- Accurately updated Coaching profiles and playbooks

- Draft classes that have realistic player information for every player

- A few slider sets designed to be a base for realistic game play

I know of one for the PBA here lol

I love seeing you back here slimm44. It's getting kinda' boring without you tbh. We need your knowledge. So far I really feel as if NBA 2K14 is superior to NBA 2K13. And one of the biggest reasons for that is the sleeved jerseys.

However, you're being awfully vague here. There's probably around four large-scale 2K14 projects out there right now (UBR 2K14, NCAA March Madness, PBA 2K14 and FIBA 2K14, not including those anime mods), so what exactly are you getting at that hasn't been done before or something.

I personally asked Vlad about this and he told me that it was hardcoded into the game.

More audio IDs for the new players, also there are just more things to edit in NBA 2K14 RED MC than in NBA 2K13.

I haven't played 2K13 in some time, but from what I recall, the gameplay in 2K14 was substantially better than 2K13.

Ive already started on a global for this, once an offical team is put together, I can circulate this in the group for beta testing. Im also skilled in hex editing for jerseys and crowds, stadiums and floors as there are still some visuals that have not been tapped into yet, and I will gladly train some people who are working on those.

Skoadam and I are going to post our updated project in the next week or so. You should check it out. I've done some MAJOR work to gameplay. It's pretty solid.

Maybe in time we can see what those same edits do in 2k14.

I just hope you can make the HoF difficulty win you for being good and not cheesing you. Somethings that should for sure be solved when it comes to gameplay (I can beat by 20 HoF difficulty teams with a bunch of 60 rated players, so I know what I'm talking about.):

- Players on your team who you don't control who decide to sag off when they should be playing the passing lanes.
- Too easy to block CPU shots, on the other hand, CPU never blocks you, or nearly never.
- CPU players trying and trying to get to the rim pushing you even if you are playing good defense till they get under the rim and either they score or they get fouled.
- CPU overpowered offensive rebounding.

Don't forget:
  • The centers who "camp" under the basket
  • Opposing AI Box-outs are flawless. They can predict when the shot will miss. If the shot is going to be a brick, air ball, or a simple miss they will box you out. Its in comparison with a black hole: There is no escape with a CPU box-out
  • CPU will push you around when running walking MOVING inside the 3PT line while running plays to ensure you will not get to your designated position to complete a pick, get freed by teammate pick (which fails btw), and to simply follow the arrow as instructed by PlayVision
  • Enemy AI has telepathic mind-power abilities which enables near perfect help defense on pick and rolls, on-ball defense, and contesting shots
  • Near perfect timing when intercepting passes
  • Controlled player always attempting a "double block" when attempting a "block" enabling opponents to grab offensive rebounds and score
  • CPU will score uncontested 99.71% of the time under the basket because somehow they cannot be bothered when I try to contest their shots at close range
  • CPU-engaged alley-oops are always perfect. They. Never. Miss. It doesn't matter if its Tim Duncan who throws an alley-oop to Parker, its always spot-on

This. It always happens with opposing point guards (this also includes all the James Hardens, Kevin Durants, LeBron Jameses, etc.)

Should you have any bugs/glitches while roster editing, or any inquiries on it, feel free to ask me. I've stayed with 2K14 for 2 years now so I can answer any questions regarding some crashing, etc.
