MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Only two players in NBA history have made it to season No. 21 in their careers. Kevin Garnett is about to become the third.
Garnett agreed to terms on a two-year deal to return to the Minnesota Timberwolves, a person with knowledge of the situation told The Associated Press on Tuesday. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the deal has not been announced.
Garnett spent his first 12 seasons in Minnesota before being traded to Boston in 2007. He won a championship and played in another NBA Finals with the Celtics before moving on to Brooklyn.

Wesley Johnson is leaving the Los Angeles Lakers; he just isn't leaving Los Angeles. The veteran forward agreed to a contract with the Clippers on Tuesday as head coach Doc Rivers attempts to fill out his roster following the departure of DeAndre Jordan.
Shams Charania of RealGM first reported the news, and Dan Woike of the Orange County Register reported the contract will be for the league minimum. Johnson is not officially able to sign the contract until Thursday, the end of the NBA's moratorium period on transactions.
The No. 4 overall pick in 2010, Johnson spent the last two seasons with the Lakers. He averaged 9.9 points, 4.2 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game in 2014-15, largely working as the team's starting small forward. Despite below-average production for most of his career, Johnson has started 269 of his 349 NBA games.
