As Henry Hill says in Goodfellas, "you're a pistol. You're really funny. You're really funny".

Nice odds. I'll take the field against Cleveland

Also very happy that JR didn't win, and I can speak for knicks fans everywhere when I say that.

You guys love Lee so much and hate Smith so much, huh? What about Shump?

That's easy to answer.

David Lee put up solid numbers and has acted like pro his whole career even when benched for most of the year he was already ready to give 100%.

JR on the other side partied to much, did stupid unprofessional things on and off the court and just took horrible shots during game.

Shumpert I didnt the mind, he worked hard on defence mind, he played tough defence and could hit the open 3 ball but he is okay in people's eyes until he gets paid and then he's just another of these underachieving overpaid players.

I wonder if it's possible for people to say things they don't actually mean, perhaps in a joking manner.

Things like filling their signature with Kobe gifs.

Yeah like kd and wade being douches now and lbj is some sorta saint, redeemed himself going back to cavs

i dont hate lbj actually. 1/3 my criticism was valid, 2/3 were just poking agro. u prolly know dis. Some don't. whatever, season's over now, was fun while it lasted.

[Kerr] also received a text from former Spurs teammate Tim Duncan that read, "It's that easy, huh?"

This video shows some nice interaction between Duncan and Kerr. Duncan seems like the most laid back person ever. Kawhi may be the most stoic one though.

Marc Stein: LeBron's handling of Blatt unbecoming

I know this much, though: James is too brilliant as a basketball player, too truly great, to behave the way he did toward David Blatt during the NBA Finals.

And we likewise saw LeBron emasculate Blatt in ways that are simply unbecoming of a player of James' legend-in-the-making stature.

I saw it from close range in my role as sideline reporter through the Finals for ESPN Radio. James essentially called timeouts and made substitutions. He openly barked at Blatt after decisions he didn't like. He huddled frequently with Lue, often looking at anyone other than Blatt.

There was James, in one instance I witnessed from right behind the bench, shaking his head vociferously in protest after one play Blatt drew up in the third quarter of Game 5, amounting to the loudest nonverbal scolding you could imagine -- which forced Blatt, in front of his whole team, to wipe the board clean and draw up something else.

I love how his examples are all things every superstar has ever done. Phil Jackson has tomes about Jordan and Kobe changing plays, ignoring his calls, refusing to sub out, etc.

He also leaves out Blatt's admission that he's had to rely on Lue to keep track of timeouts, fouls and player minutes.

I never heard how Phil Jackson earned Jordan's respect. Anyone?? I know Doug Collins did a number on him but still. Don't think Phil was an avid card player or golfer

jacksons reputation was worse than Blatt's when he first started. He was coaching in the California penal system league as far as I am concerned before Krause saved him from that

The last part of that quote is over dramatic. I feel bad for Blatt. I hope he lands another coaching gig if the cavs indeed let him go

From wiki

As coach
Euroleague champion (2014)
Euroleague Coach of the Year (2014)
4× Israeli League Coach of the Year (1996, 2002, 2011, 2014)
6× Israeli Cup champion (2002, 2003, 2011–2014)
5× Israeli League champion (2002, 2003, 2011, 2012, 2014)
FIBA EuroChallenge champion (2005)
Russian Super League Coach of the Year (2005)
Italian League champion (2006)
Italian Cup champion (2007)
Adriatic League champion (2012)
Russian Federation Order of Friendship award recipient (2014

In Blatt's first season, the Cavaliers won the Eastern Conference title, their first since 2007.[25] Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called Blatt to congratulate him for bringing the Cavaliers to the NBA Finals.[26][27] While there have been other rookie head coaches who have reached the NBA finals in the past, Blatt and rival coach Steve Kerr are the first pair of rookie NBA coaches to face each other in the NBA Finals since the first year of the NBA's existence, in 1947.[28] The Cavaliers eventually lost with 4–2 in the Finals.[29]

He sounds like one of the most coveted up and coming coaches internationally. And his popularity is peaking and there was no feud between LBJ and Blatt before unlike Wade & Spo. This news is plain simply meaningless imo. It's not any way more serious than any coaches go through with their stars/players.

Probably got tired of Doug Collins new plays every day so Jordan got friendly with assistant coach Jackson.
Also having Jordan's ass kicked by the Pistons made him open to new ideas from Jackson.

Jordan was never a fan of Krause's moves. I imagine someone had to sell him on Jacksons hiring.. nevermind be willing to wait on pippen and grant's development

Jordan rather infamously revolted against The Holy Triangle. Dean Smith played a key role in convincing him of it.

Speaking of Krause and Pippen/Grant/Kukoc/etc. I was kinda surprised in Phil's most recent book and an article Jordan "wrote" in ESPN Magazine where both basically admitted the guy was/is a great scout. When they've never said much positive about that Jerry before.

Phil more or less says that Krause would bring him players perfect for his system and that he didn't know he wanted before like Will Perdue, Luc Longley, Ron Harper, Kukoc bringing shooting/ballhandling with the size of a big, Rodman, etc. And it was only later in Los Angeles where he realized that having those types of players show up regularly wasn't a coincidence or something you could just count on.
